We have got an interesting game to look forward to on Sunday night as Belgium take on Iran. After the first round of games in Group G all the teams ended up with just one point and will need a win to qualify for the knockout stages.
Belgium have been a strong team for a decade now, but it does feel like their players are getting older now. Iran have qualified for the World Cup seven times but have never made it into the knockout stages.
Here are our three football betting tips and the best free bet offers ahead of Sunday evening's clash at SoFi Stadium.
Belgium vs Iran Tips
Here are our top three World Cup betting tips and the best free bets ahead of this game.
Tip 1: Belgium to win & both teams to score
Belgium didn’t have a great start to this World Cup and will be looking to put things right with a win here. Only managing to draw against Egypt wasn’t a massive shock but it was an upset.
Star centre forward, Romelu Lukaku, clearly wasn’t fit and they lacked a cutting edge up front compared to the last few years. Overall, the Belgians looked a bit lethargic and will be desperate to improve in this game.
Iran looked capable of being competitive in this World Cup when they managed to get a draw against New Zealand. They came from behind twice in that match and having that resilience will help them potentially qualify.
They only lost once during their qualifying campaign, and they clearly have a decent amount of ability. Veteran forward, Mehdi Taremi, scored ten goals during that qualifying campaign and will need to have a good game here if Iran are to get anything.
Expect Belgium to have more than enough quality to win this game but for Iran to still get on the scoreboard.
Tip 2: Jeremy Doku to score
Jeremy Doku had a solid year for Manchester City once he got over his injury problems in the early part of the season. He managed to start 19 Premier League games and get five goals and five assists.
Doku has become an ever present in the Belgian side, starting all eight of his teams qualifying campaign. During that time, he scored five times and got two assists as well.
Expect him to get a few more opportunities against a poorer team than he did against Egypt.
Tip 3: Kevin De Bruyne 1+ shot on target, Thomas Meunier to be shown a card & Jeremy Doku to score
Kevin De Bruyne has had a wonderful career, and the veteran midfielder is still always up for having a shot. In the game against Egypt, he had four shots with one on target and a similar outcome could happen in this game.
Thomas Meunier started in the first game against Egypt and was lucky not to see a yellow card. He committed five fouls against the Egyptians and if he does that again he could easily see a card in this game.
Finally add Jeremy Doku to score anytime. The Manchester City attacker showed how vital he was for Belgium during the qualifying campaign with five goals and two assists. He should get a few chances against this Iranian defence.
