Colombia have been pretty much punch perfect so far this year’s World Cup.
It’s two wins from two for Los Cafeteros, sitting pretty at the top of Group K already confirmed of their place in the knockouts.
The road has been a little rockier for Portugal who had to rally after being held by DR Congo in their opener, but have since gone on to smash Uzbekistan 5-0 and flex their muscles in doing so.
The winner of this Sunday morning game in Miami will top Group K, whereas a draw favours Colombia who enter the third round with a two-point advantage.
A lot of the talk surrounding Portugal so far this tournament has centered around the ego of Cristiano Ronaldo — can he build on his performance against Uzbekistan and begin to further prove his worth in a Portugal shirt?
Here are our three football betting tips and the best free bet offers ahead of Sunday morning's clash in Miami.
Colombia vs Portugal Tips
Here are our top three World Cup betting tips and the best free bets ahead of this game.
Tip 1: Bruno Fernandes to have 1+ shots on target & be fouled 1+ times
You can pretty much guarantee that Bruno Fernandes is going to be heavily involved in any football match he plays in.
The Manchester United midfielder dictates play in the middle of the pitch alongside two talented colleagues either side, and can be as effective in the defensive third as he can be in the attacking third.
He’s a constant threat in and around the box, from free-kicks, and would be from penalties if he was allowed to take them …
His trickery on the ball and ability to win challenges is extremely underrated, so backing him at 11/10 to win a foul and have a shot on target looks great value.
Tip 2: Match result - Draw
We’re still not totally convinced by this Portugal side.
Despite his brace on Tuesday, they still haven’t solved the Cristiano Ronaldo problem, and against tougher teams than Uzbekistan Roberto Martinez’s side won’t be afforded the luxury of carrying the 41-year-old.
Colombia have looked strong all over the pitch so far, and considering they only need a point to top the group, expect them to get over the line one way or another on Sunday morning.
17/4 for a
Tip 3: Cristiano Ronaldo to score & be shown a card
Listen, if Cristiano Ronaldo is going to continue starting for Portugal then he is going to keep writing headlines.
Whether they are good or bad headlines, time will tell, but we think he’s got at least another goal in him before the end of the group phase.
Ronaldo’s ego has taken a bit of a battering in recent weeks and he looks well in the mood to put that right in the way of goalscoring.
If Portugal are to win a penalty then CR7 is bound to take it. Would you bet against a topless “siuuu” followed by a booking?
