2026 World Cup Golden Glove: Best Goalkeeper Betting Tips & Odds

Updated: June 9, 2026 at 4:31 pm GMT+1

The Golden Glove goes to the best goalkeeper of the tournament, and it is one of the more readable individual markets once you know what drives it. Four of the last five winners belonged to the eventual champions, so the award tends to follow the side that goes deepest.

That is why the front of the betting is stacked with keepers from the favourites, and why a clean-sheet platform matters as much as raw shot-stopping. The award often shadows the best-player race too, where the same nations dominate the Player of the Tournament market.

Below we run through the contenders and pick out three tips.

For daily previews of every fixture, see our World Cup 2026 betting tips hub.

Golden Glove Odds & Contenders

The names at the head of the market are exactly the ones you would expect, and the field is tightly bunched at the top.

You can track the latest World Cup odds as they move, but the award usually rewards keepers from the same favoured nations that dominate our World Cup top scorer predictions.

Here are the latest World Cup golden glove odds, courtesy of our World Cup betting sites.

Golden Glove Winner
Best Odds
Teams Best Odds
Emiliano Martinez

Emiliano Martinez (Argentina)

The defending champion sits right at the head of the market, and the logic is hard to fault. He is an elite penalty stopper, he has the big-tournament temperament, and Argentina rarely leak goals.

The case against is the price and the path. Argentina are a notch behind the very top sides for outfield depth, so a deep run is not the formality it is for some, and Argentina's World Cup prices reflect that small doubt about how far they go.

Unai Simon (Spain)

Spain are among the tournament favourites and Simon benefits hugely from their control-heavy game, which starves opponents of clear chances. He kept more clean sheets than any other keeper in the European qualifying groups, which tells you plenty about the platform in front of him.

The catch is rotation. With Spain expected to go deep, Luis de la Fuente has the luxury of resting players in the group stage, and the strength of Spain's tournament odds is the reason Simon is so short.

David Raya (Spain)

The same Spain platform makes Raya an interesting each-way thought rather than a no-hoper. He had a standout club season at Arsenal and the bookmakers are clearly hedging on who starts the biggest games.

This is a binary punt. If Raya gets the gloves for the knockout matches he is a live contender, but if Simon plays the lot then it is dead money.

Alisson (Brazil)

Carlo Ancelotti is expected to start Alisson ahead of Ederson, and on his day he remains one of the finest keepers in the world. A Brazil side built to go deep would give him the clean-sheet platform the award demands.

The flag is fitness and rhythm. He had an injury-affected end to his club season and missed half of Brazil's qualifiers, so he arrives a little short of a full run of games, and Brazil's World Cup prices still have them among the favourites regardless.

Mike Maignan (France)

France keep clean sheets as a matter of habit, and Maignan is the undisputed number one heading into his first World Cup. If Les Bleus come through the group, the knockout draw can open up nicely for them.

The query is his record against the better sides, which has been patchier than his record against weaker opposition. France also have one of the toughest groups in the tournament, which adds a layer of early risk.

Jordan Pickford (England)

England's number one arrives in strong shape and with shootout pedigree behind him. Thomas Tuchel's side did not concede a single goal in qualifying, which is the kind of defensive base that wins this award.

If England match that solidity and go deep, Pickford has as clear a path as anyone in the market. He sits a touch bigger in the betting than the very top names, which is where the value starts to creep in.

Thibaut Courtois (Belgium)

Courtois is back in the fold for Belgium after missing Euro 2024, and he remains the gold standard for shot-stopping and presence. Crucially, he is the proof that you do not need to win the tournament to land this award, having taken it in 2018 from a third-placed side.

Diogo Costa (Portugal)

Costa is a modern sweeper-keeper who suits Portugal's possession game, and Portugal arrive in serious form. If they click and go deep, his price looks generous next to the names above him.

Manuel Neuer (Germany)

The comeback story of the squad announcements, Neuer has come out of international retirement at 40 and is expected to start if he is fit. That is the whole bet, because a calf injury kept him out of Germany's pre-tournament friendlies and Oliver Baumann, who started every qualifier, is ready to step in.

The long shots

A keeper from a dark-horse run can land this at a big price, as Courtois showed. Yassine Bono for Morocco and Edouard Mendy for Senegal only pay out if their nations seriously overachieve, but a small stake on a deep run is a reasonable shout for value hunters.

World Cup Golden Glove Tips

Here are our three Golden Glove tips for the tournament. They share one thread: back a proven keeper with a clean-sheet platform at a price, rather than piling into the two short market leaders.

Tip 1: Jordan Pickford to Win the Golden Glove

England gave up nothing in qualifying under Tuchel, and that defensive base is exactly the profile this award rewards. Pickford has the shootout record to settle a knockout tie too, which is often how the Golden Glove is decided.

He sits behind Martinez and Simon in the betting despite arguably the best clean-sheet platform of the lot. If England go deep, that gap in the prices is where the value lies.

Tip 2: Thibaut Courtois (Each-Way)

Courtois is the value angle precisely because he does not need Belgium to win the tournament. He proved that in 2018, taking the award from a side that finished third, and he remains one of the very best keepers around.

Belgium are not tournament favourites, but a run to the latter stages would be enough to put him right in the conversation. At his price, the each-way thinking does the rest.
