Norway’s impressive return to world football’s top table gets the ultimate test on Sunday, facing off against five-time World Cup winners Brazil.
Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil left it late in their last 32 win over Japan, and travel to New Jersey with a similarly tricky hurdle to navigate if they are to edge closer to a historic sixth title.
Norway have been the entertainers so far this World Cup, scoring 10, conceding 8 and only losing to France with a heavily rotated side. They are the underdogs on Sunday night, but finally have a squad capable of mixing it in these showcase fixtures.
Here are our three football betting tips and the best free bet offers ahead of Sunday's night’s clash in New Jersey.
Mexico vs England Tips
Here are our top three World Cup betting tips and the best free bets ahead of this game.
Tip 1: Draw & both teams to score
Mexico had a great group stage winning all three games and they didn’t even concede a goal. They beat South Africa 2-0, South Korea 1-0 and Czechia 3-0 with all of them games in Mexico City.
They then went on to have another comfortable win against Ecuador to make their way into the last 16. This impressive home form is nothing new as they have won 70 of their 89 matches at the “Azteca” and have only lost their twice.
Now they must take on an England side that have managed to get this far but it’s been a tough ride. In the group stage England had an impressive 4-2 win against Croatia but then struggled to a 0-0 draw with Ghana and a tight 2-0 win against Panama.
They then struggled to get past DR Congo after going 1-0 down to come through and win 2-1 in the end. It feels like they are struggling along but they are getting the results which is the most important thing.
Expect this to be a tight affair. England are the better team, but Mexico have a home crowd and altitude on their side. This feels like a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes.
Tip 2: Harry Kane to score
Harry Kane has had an impressive World Cup already and it does feel like most of England’s hopes rely on him. The Bayern Munich forward scored 36 Bundesliga goals last season, and he has already got five in this tournament.
He scored two against Croatia, one against Panama and two more against DR Congo to put him in the Golden Boot conversation. If anyone is going to score for England its likely to be Kane and he must be taken at the 6/4 price.
Tip 3: Jesus Gallardo to be shown a card, Julian Quinones 1+ shot on target & Harry Kane to score
Jesus Gallardo has played in all four of Mexico’s World Cup games so far. He has committed five fouls, and the veteran defender has been lucky not to see a card yet. He also received six yellow cards from 13 starts in Liga MX last season.
Julian Quinones is another player who has had a good World Cup campaign so far. He has had 11 shots with five of them hitting the target. He has also turned that into three goals, and he has got an assist on top of that.
Finally add Harry Kane to score anytime. Kane is England’s main threat and with five goals already in this World Cup it wouldn’t be a shock to see him get another in this game.
