Spain vs Belgium Tips
Here are our top three World Cup betting tips and the best free bets ahead of this game.
Tip 1: Spain to win to nil
Arguably, the draw against Cape Verde was the kick up the backside that Spain needed.
Although they fired a blank in that match, they have shown a mixture of brawn and finesse to reach the quarter-finals, and 1-0 has been a common scoreline for them.
Indeed, their 1-0 win over Portugal in the Round of 16 was their 11th overall at the World Cup — only Germany (17) and Brazil (13) have claimed more.
Belgium, on the other hand, have struggled to hit top gear at times, but their 4-1 evisceration of hosts USA was a masterclass. Charles De Ketelaere was the chief destroyer, weighing in with two goals and one assist, and Spain will need to keep a tight leash on him.
However, it’s worth noting Spain are a tough nut to break down as they are yet to concede in this tournament. Spain could come up trumps, and a win to nil outcome isn’t too fanciful.
Tip 2: Mikel Oyarzabal to score
Against Portugal, the super subs made the difference, with Arsenal midfielder Mikel Merino grabbing a last-gasp winner.
Mikel Oyarzabal, however, has proved his worth and has left team-mate Lamine Yamal in the shade.
Indeed, Oyarzabal has had five goal involvements this tournament (four goals and one assist), and he has clocked up 435 minutes of gameplay.
Oyarzabal gives Spain plenty of dynamism, and he can turn games on their head. I expect Oyarzabal to come to the fore again and net at any time.
Tip 3: Lamine Yamal to be fouled 3+ times, Mikel Oyarzabal to score & Belgium most cards
Yamal can terrorise defences, but he’s also prone to having his heels snapped by defenders. Belgium could look to unsettle him, and three or more fouls to be committed on Yamal has legs.
Add to your betting slip Oyarzabal, who has been one of the star performers for Spain with four goals to his name this tournament, to weigh in with a strike.
Complete your bet builder with Belgium, who have picked up four yellow cards and a red to make some scything challenges. The pressure at times could get to them if they are chasing the game, and one or more cautions in each half for the Red Devils is worth pursuing.
