If you like maths then this may be a benefit with this particular strategy as the Fibonacci system does require some quick arithmetic. Using a pen and paper whilst playing this strategy may be useful. The Fibonacci system can be seen by some as a safer option to the Martingale system yet it still has the potential to create wins. Although initially sounding complicated the basics of this system relies on starting with one and then adding the two previous numbers together to give you the next number in the sequence.

How to use the Fibonacci Strategy

As with quite a few of the systems we cover here at Free Casino this strategy is based on even chance betting. Remember though that it is not quite even betting due to the house advantage of the green zero. Therefore we are looking at betting on the Red or Black, Even or Odd and the blocks of numbers 1-18 and 19-36.

First as always decide how much your minimum bet will be and that it is within your limits as this bet will only increase. One thing from the sequence used in this system that you should notice is that it does not add up to give you a win every time. Here is an example of the sequence we are looking at.

1 – 1 – 2 – 3 – 5 – 8 – 13 – 21 – 34 – 55 – 89 – 144 – 233 – 377 – 610

As you can see from the above example adding the preceding two numbers together gives the next i.e. 1+1=2 then 1+2=3, then 2+3=5 and so on.

Now putting this into practise using 1 as a single chip you would increase your bet when you lose and decrease your bet when you win. Starting at position 2 in the sequence above which is still shown as a single chip we place 1 chip and lose. Adding the first 2 numbers together means our next bet is 2 chips. If we lose again, adding the last 2 bets togther makes our next bet 3 chips. Another loss means the bet increases to 5 chips.

However if you win you would then step back 2 places in the sequence. This means if on our now 5 chips bet we win, our next bet would be back to 2 chips.

Does the Fibonacci Strategy Work?

One thing that is sure with this system is that it can help sustain the fun for playing roulette as it is much safer than the Martingale approach. In the example above if we had continued to play and lose for even just 3 more spins we would be putting 21 chips on the table. However under the Martingale system at that point you would need to be placing 64 chips on the table. Therefore the Fibonacci strategy can benefit a more casual playing experience. However you may not see very much profit as you are always trying to get back to the start of the sequence if you have lost.
