First run in 1776, the St Leger is one of the oldest horse races in the world and this weekend will see the 2021 running of the final Classic of the UK flat season.
Ten runners will line up at Doncaster on Saturday afternoon with the betting headed by the Irish Derby winner Hurricane Lane who is trained by Charlie Appleby.

Galileo Chrome won the 2020 St Leger for Ireland, landing a jockey-trainer double for Joseph O’Brien who rode Leading Light to success in the race in 2013.
Sent off at 4/1, Galileo Chrome gave jockey Tom Marquand a first Classic win, with Marquand only securing the ride the day before the big race after fellow jockey Shane Crosse tested positive for Covid-19.

The St Leger is the final Classic of the flat season and is run annually at Doncaster racecourse over a trip of 1 mile and 6 furlongs – this year’s race is on Saturday, 11 September.
