The 2023 Leger Legends - Top Jockeys Return
Who will come out on top in this year’s Leger Legends?
The 2023 Leger Legends Race takes place on Sunday, 17 September, at Doncaster Racecourse.
It is the only British charity race for ex-professional jockeys, and this year, it will be the feature race on the fourth and final day of the St Leger Festival.
The race raises money for two important charities - the National Horseracing College and the Injured Jockeys Fund Jack Berry House.
The Leger Legends Race is always a popular event. This year’s race will be no exception, with Davy Russell, Robbie Power, Tom Scudamore, and Paul Hanagan all featuring.
The race is run over a straight one mile on the turf and sees a selection of horses from various stables participating.
The Leger Legends Race is an excellent opportunity to see some of the top jockeys of all time back in the saddle, and it is also a chance to support two essential charities that do vital work for the British racing industry.
Tom Scu, one to have faith in
Tom Scudamore is set to partner I Still Have Faith in the Leger Legends Race, and the Ben Brookhouse three-year-old has been in excellent form over the last few months.
He landed back-to-back victories in handicap company in July and has been competitive twice in August, finishing third and fourth.
With a handicap mark of 70, he’s one of the top-rated horses in the race, and with the recently-retired Tom Scudamore on board, he looks an excellent each-way bet in a wide-open looking race.
