Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov Boxing Tips, Latest Odds & Predictions

He’s back!
After not one, not two, not three, not four, but FIVE retirements, the “Gypsy King” Tyson Fury is back in the ring this Saturday night taking on the 194cm challenge of Arslanbek Makhmudov.
In a bid to relaunch himself in the ever-changing heavyweight division, Fury’s comeback fight inside London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is being streamed live globally on Netflix in a groundbreaking event funded by the Ring Magazine and Turki Alalshikh.
But at 37 years old, there are plenty of question marks hanging over the head of the former heavyweight world champion.
Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov Tips
It’s been three-and-a-half years since Fury registered a win over a recognised boxer (ignoring his disputed victory over Francis Ngannou in October 2023), and it’s unclear how back-to-back defeats to Oleksandr Usyk will have impacted the physicality of the 37-fight veteran.
Makhmudov is well known to British fight fans after a 12-round win over Dave Allen last October and he will himself have aspirations of climbing right to the top of the heavyweight mountain.
Can the Russian-Canadian cause a big upset in north London on Saturday night? It would certainly be that, as betting sites make Fury a strong favourite to take this.
And if this heavyweight contest wasn’t enough, Conor Benn returns to the ring on the undercard following his well publicised split from Matchroom Boxing, taking on former world champion Regis Prograis at welterweight.
Let’s take a look at three boxing tips for Saturday night:
Tip 1: Tyson Fury to win by Decision/Technical Decision at 11/4 with bet365
We’re unconvinced that Tyson Fury has what it takes to be a major force in the heavyweight division again.
Deep into his 30s, Fury is well beyond his peak and is without a big win on his record since potentially his third fight with Deontay Wilder.
But that’s not to say he doesn’t have enough to eke out a win over Makhmudov.
The bear-wrestling giant has plenty of shortcomings inside the ring, with his sizable frame masking many of his technical deficiencies as a fighter.
He was able to fight smart against Dave Allen last October, but Fury won’t give him the breathing space to glide through rounds like he did in Sheffield.
Still, we aren’t certain that Fury has the artillery to force a stoppage here like he may of a decade ago.
Tip 2: Fury vs Makhmudov - Fight to go the Distance at 9/4 Paddy Power
There is a high chance that this fight just ticks on without anything too noticeable happening.
Makhmudov knows he has been lined up inside the Tottenham Hotspur stadium to be a fall guy at Fury’s expense, but sometimes these heavyweight contests develop into messy wars of attrition.
Fury has heard the final bell in his last three fights and we wouldn’t be surprised if he makes it four on Saturday after a frustrating 36 minutes.
Tip 3: Conor Benn vs Regis Prograis - Under 5.5 Rounds at 4/5 with bet365
There are rumours circulating that Conor Benn is being paid $15 million for his welterweight return against Regis Prograis, signalling the start of his new relationship with Zuffa Boxing.
And in the opposite corner is a faded former junior welterweight champion in Regis Prograis who has apparently suffered an injury during camp.
This all adds up to a one-sided fight on the Fury-Makhmudov undercard, with both men receiving huge pay days for limited work.
Benn should be able to blast Prograis out of there pretty quickly on Saturday, with under 5.5 rounds the bet.
