2025 World Grand Prix Tips - Quater-Finals
We’re down to the last eight in Leicester as thoughts begin turning to Sunday’s final and a chance at major silverware.
We’ve had a healthy blend of shocks and big names making it through inside the Mattioli Arena, as the double in, double out format continues to excite.
Will we get a new name on the trophy? Or will one of the usual suspects swoop in to claim the title?
Let’s take a look at some of the best darts tips for day five of the action in Leicester.
Tip 1: Luke Humphries 3-0 Cameron Menzies
Cameron Menzies may look like a new man at the oche in 2025, but there’s enough to suggest that the Scot won’t be able to hack the pressure that world number one Luke Humphries will put him under.
Menzies got past an under-par Rob Cross in the second round, but a few dodgy legs of doubling could well have seen him throw away a match that was in the palm of his hands.
Averaging at 84 in both of his matches so far, Menzies might have to stick another 10 on this average to lay a glove on Humphries who got up to 96 in his 3-1 win over the 'Polish Eagle' Krzysztof Ratajski.
A 3-0 sweep isn’t that rare in set play and could effectively be as close as 9-6 in legs — and that’s what we’re expecting from “Cool Hand” Humphries as he steps up the gears on Friday night.
Tip 2: Gary Anderson to beat Danny Nopperts
We’re on the Gary Anderson hype-train this week in Leicester, as the 'Flying Scotsman' looks to turn his good form in 2025 to another major PDC title.
The Scot has dropped just one set so far this week and has barely broken a sweat in gliding past the dangerous Raymond van Barneveld and Joe Cullen.
Danny Noppert is next, and the German will be looking to repeat his feat from 2021 where he reached the semi-final at the Grand Prix for the first time.
But Anderson is in the top 10 for averages and checkout percentages over the last 12 months and should be able to find a way past Noppert in a race to three.
Tip 3: Luke Littler vs Gerwyn Price - Over 4.5 sets
We’re still awaiting our first five-set thriller at this year’s Grand Prix, so why not wait for two of the form players to serve it up.
Littler has the raw talent and Price has the competitive edge to see this one tick along nicely on Friday night, both on a mission to land in Sunday’s final.
It’s Price with the pedigree. The “Iceman” made three finals here over four years, winning one title, and is playing well enough to capitalise on any Littler shortcomings.
A back-and-forth tussle could easily end in a 3-2 either way.
