Sunderland vs Newcastle Tips, Bet Builder & Latest Odds

The Stadium of Light will be in fine voice on Sunday afternoon when Sunderland entertain neighbours Newcastle.
Representing the first Premier League Tyne-Wear derby in nearly a decade, there will be no room for sentiment, and both sides are pushing for European football.
Just three places and a point separate the two sides, but who will get the bragging rights? Weโve scoured the markets and plucked out three football betting tips for your perusal.
Sunderland vs Newcastle Tips
I've got three tipsย for the clash at the Stadium of Light.
Tip 1: Draw & BTTS
Sunderland have undoubtedly been one of the Premier Leagueโs surprise packages this season, and they have been a breath of fresh air under Regis Le Bris.
Their brand of football has made for compelling viewing, and theyโve acquitted themselves well against the established powerhouses, such as Arsenal and Liverpool.
Just like Arsenal, Sunderland are the only other side in the league to remain unbeaten at home (W4 D3), and theyโve captured more points at the Stadium of Light this season (15) than they managed across the whole of their last top-flight campaign (14) in 2016/17.
Although the Black Cats lost their previous meeting with Newcastle last season, that was in the FA Cup. This is actually Sunderlandโs longest-ever unbeaten league run against Newcastle (W6 D3).
Sunderland have gained more points from losing positions (12) than any other side this term, while Newcastle have dropped the most points while ahead (15). Eddie Howeโs men will be prepared for the cauldron of noise, and while I was initially tempted by Sunderland Double Chance, the odds were too short, so Iโve gone with the draw and both teams to score line instead.
Tip 2: Anthony Gordon to Score Anytime
After a run of 22 Premier League games without a goal, Anthony Gordon is in a bit of a purple patch.
Heโs scored in each of his past two league outings, and heโs netted in each of his last three appearances across all competitions.
Gordon has become Newcastleโs designated penalty taker, and he converted with aplomb from the spot against Tottenham and Burnley respectively.
While there wasnโt a player/penalty special available, I like the look of Gordon to make his mark in this game and hit the target.
Tip 3: Anthony Gordon to Score Anytime, Granit Xhaka to provide an assist, Total Shots on Target Over 8.5
To kick off this bet builder, Gordon could make a nuisance of himself, and heโs had the bit between his teeth lately, so scoring anytime seems feasible.
Granit Xhaka has bedded in well at Sunderland, and heโs the clubโs top assist provider with four this term. He could make another valuable contribution against the Magpies.
Meanwhile, Tyne-Wear derbies are often frantic, and there could be plenty of goalmouth action. Three of the past four league meetings have seen 10 or more shots on target, but Iโve been more conservative and gone with Over 8.5.
