Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship Golf Betting Tips, Predictions & Odds

The DP World Tour returns to Yas Links for the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, the opening leg of the season-ending play-offs and a $9m Rolex Series stop that has drawn much of the tourโs elite.
Rory McIlroy heads the market as he looks to protect his Race to Dubai lead over the chasing pack, with Tommy Fleetwood, Tyrrell Hatton, Ludvig ร berg and Matt Fitzpatrick all close behind in the odds.
Yas Links is an exposed par 72 that can be a genuine test when the wind picks up, as we saw with Thomas Pietersโ 10-under winning total in 2022, although calmer editions, which are expected this week, have turned it into a birdie shootout.
Strategic course management is crucial here, with its sprawling greens, deep bunkers, and ever-present water hazards shaping every approach shot, and with that in mind, Free Bets golf expert Ben Smith has picked out a few golf betting tips.
Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship Betting Tips
Here are our three top tips, with the best prices on the market
Tip 1: Winner - Tyrrell Hatton
Hatton looks the most convincing pick among the leading figures this week. Heโs been consistently outstanding at Yas Links, coming inside the top seven in each of his three starts since the event moved here, with his latest effort being a runner-up berth in 2024.
Hattonโs overall precision and sharp iron play make him ideally suited to a course that rewards control rather than brute power. His overall record in the Middle East is also exceptional, with past victories in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and his recent form backs that up, including a second-place finish at the Alfred Dunhill Links and a satisfactory campaign overall.
Sitting third in the Race to Dubai, he has every incentive to deliver another top-class performance and could easily go one better than last year.
Tip 2: Winner - Alex Noren
Few players arrive in better rhythm than Alex Noren, whose steady climb back to top form has been one of the stories of the season.
The Swedeโs recent spell has included two victories and several near misses, built on reliable driving and a confident stroke on the greens.
Yas Links proved a natural fit when he came fifth here in 2023, leading the field in putting and adapting comfortably to the layoutโs coastal challenges.
Norenโs history on similar setups, including wins and high finishes across Europeโs links-style events, underlines why heโs so well-suited to this week. With his belief restored and his all-round game in balance, he is surely a genuine threat to the market leaders.
Tip 3: Winner - Keita Nakajima (Each-Way) (6 places)
Keita Nakajima is another player Iโm keen to have onside this week. The Japanese star has been knocking on the door all season, falling one short in Singapore and India, having won the 2024 Indian Open.
Currently sitting inside the Race to Dubaiโs top 12 and closing in on one of the available PGA Tour cards, motivation wonโt be an issue. Strong in this part of the world and 13th here last year, he may well be ready to push higher this time.
Tip 4: Winner - Joakim Lagergren (Each-Way) (6 places)
Joakim Lagergren has pieced together a productive year, posting runner-up finishes at both the KLM Open and Irish Open.
Currently 12th in the Race to Dubai standings, heโs on the verge of completing a remarkable turnaround after losing his DP World Tour card two years ago.
Off the back of some hot putting weeks recently, and a long history of success on links-style courses, Yas Links should give him another genuine chance to contend.
