The American Express Betting Tips, Predictions & Odds

The PGA Tour heads to California this week for The American Express, a unique pro-am played across three courses at PGA West in La Quinta.
Players will rotate between the Pete Dye Stadium Course, the Nicklaus Tournament Course and La Quinta Country Club before the final round returns to the Stadium Course on Sunday.
With calm desert conditions, generous pin positions and three birdie-friendly layouts, this is usually a proper shootout, with winning scores regularly pushing into the mid-to-high 20s under par.
That doesnโt mean itโs easy to call, though, as the multi-course setup often creates a wide-open leaderboard and plenty of surprise contenders.

Tip 1: Winner - Si Woo Kim (Each-Way)
Everything points towards Si Woo Kim having another big week in the desert.
He arrives off an 11th-place finish at the Sony Open where his long game was as good as anyoneโs, ranking right at the top from tee to green and piling up chances with his irons.
That profile is ideal for PGA West, where winning scores are always deep, and you need sustained birdie looks across all four rounds.
Kim is also a proven performer here, already a winner and regularly in the mix with a solid record of weekend appearances and top-25 finishes.
Add in his comfort on Bermudagrass and his ability to thrive on shorter, target-style tracks, and he looks a serious contender if the putter cooperates.
Tip 2: Winner - Max Homa (Each-Way)
Max Homa is at a price I canโt ignore, as the signs late in 2025 suggested his game was finally moving in the right direction again.
Heโs shown he can handle this event too, having been in or close to the lead after 54 holes in his last two appearances here, which tells you he can score across the rotation.
California has always brought out his best, with most of his biggest PGA Tour moments coming on home soil, and that familiarity matters in a low-scoring affair.
Recent autumn form included a strong finish in Utah and a solid showing at Sanderson Farms, plus the return to working with Mark Blackburn is another boost.
At triple figures, the upside is worth the gamble.
Tip 3: Winner - Michael Kim (Each-Way)
Michael Kim is on the radar again after a standout 2025 that included multiple high-end finishes and a long-overdue win in France.
He comes into this off a solid Sony Open where a Saturday wobble in the wind masked three good scoring rounds, capped by a closing 65.
PGA West should suit, with Kim already showing he can contend here after finishing sixth last year and sitting second at halfway.
His current numbers are ideal for this setup too, combining sharp putting with strong approach play, and heโs shown he can go low when the conditions allow.
Tip 4: Winner - Matt McCarty (Each-Way)
Matt McCarty is another interesting triple-figure outsider this week.
His Sony Open finish doesnโt tell the full story, as he drove it well and found plenty of fairways and greens, but the putter never warmed up.
Thatโs usually a strength, and a quick bounce-back is realistic on these receptive PGA West layouts.
He also arrives with solid late-2025 form and a knack for making birdies in bunches, which is exactly what you need here.
