Next Scunthorpe Manager Odds: Stuart Maynard Favourite to Replace Andy Butler

Scunthorpe United have sacked manager Andy Butler after six defeats in seven National League games.
Tuesday's 4-1 loss at Tamworth was the Iron's tenth defeat of the season and leaves them 22nd, five points adrift of safety.
Butler led Scunthorpe to promotion from National League North in 2024-25 and a fifth-placed finish last season, but he has already lost as many league games this term as in the whole of last campaign.
After the Tamworth defeat he said: "I've protected them a lot. I think a little bit of harsh reality in terms of the players didn't look bothered, not all of them but a few of them."
BetVictor and other football betting sites have now opened a market on the next permanent Scunthorpe boss, with Stuart Maynard installed as the favourite ahead of Luke Williams and Darren Ferguson.
The club said it will provide further details in due course.

Stuart Maynard
Stuart Maynard is the early favourite after leaving York City on 26 July, just three months after guiding them to the National League title.
He earned Manager of the Season honours after leading York to a club-record 108 points, although the board cited a “difference in direction and vision” behind his departure.
Maynard knows the division from his time at Wealdstone between 2021 and 2024 and previously managed Notts County, who sacked him in May 2025 following a play-off semi-final defeat to AFC Wimbledon.
His York side also beat Scunthorpe 3-0 at Glanford Park in February, although the Iron won 3-1 in the reverse fixture in October 2025.
Luke Williams
Luke Williams has been available since Peterborough United dismissed him on 19 September, with the club second from bottom of League One after one win in seven league games.
He won 18 of his 47 matches at London Road, having previously guided Notts County to National League promotion in 2023 and managed Swansea City in the Championship from January 2024 to February 2025.
Williams was installed as the 1/2 favourite for the Forest Green Rovers job earlier this month, although owner Dale Vince said there was no vacancy.
Darren Ferguson
Darren Ferguson has been out of management since Peterborough sacked him in October 2025, when the club were bottom of League One.
Across four spells at London Road, he secured four promotions and won three EFL Trophies.
However, Ferguson has since indicated that he wants his next role to be closer to a sporting director position and ruled out a fifth spell at Peterborough, leaving his appetite for a National League job uncertain.
Andy Woodman
Andy Woodman is a recent addition to the market after leaving Bromley by mutual consent on 22 October, following a 4-0 home defeat to Leicester City that left the club second from bottom of League One.
During five and a half years at Hayes Lane, he won the FA Trophy in 2022, led Bromley into the EFL through the 2024 National League play-offs and guided them to the League Two title in 2025-26.
He also earned the EFL League Two Manager of the Season award, and his success could attract interest from clubs beyond the National League.
Kevin Maher
Kevin Maher has been without a club since Southend United dismissed him on 19 May, two days after he led them to victory over Wealdstone on penalties in the FA Trophy final.
He spent almost five years in charge at Roots Hall and won National League Manager of the Month twice.
A former Southend captain with more than 400 appearances for the club, Maher remains a respected name outside the EFL.
Southend finished sixth last season before Scunthorpe eliminated them in the play-offs.
Scunthorpe have not yet named a successor.
Their next league game is away to Boston United on Saturday 31 October, kick-off 5:30pm, and you can compare the best betting sites before backing either side.
