We've got three free tips for Tuesday's Champions League clash at the Etihad.
Tip 1: Manchester City to win & both teams to score
Losing 2-1 away to Newcastle on Saturday night was a disappointment to City and they will be hoping to get back to winning ways here. Although they did lose at the weekend, they have had a solid start to the Premier League and sit third in the table.
In the Champions League they have also had good form this season. Wins against Napoli and Borussia Dortmund at home as well as a win and draw away to Villareal and Monaco respectively have left them with 10 points from four games.
Now they face a Bayer Leverkusen side that are also third in their league. They have won seven out of their 11 games so far this season and are second joint top goalscorers only behind league leaders Bayern Munich.
The Champions League, however, has not been so successful for them. Two draws in their opening games were then followed by a thumping by PSG. Fortunately, they did get a win in their last game away to Benfica, but this does feel like a step up for them.
Expect City to get back to winning ways at home but Leverkusen have a consistent threat and should be able to get one goal at least.
Tip 2: Jarell Quansah to be shown a card
The former Liverpool defender is back in England for this game and is likely to have a torrid time against City’s attackers. It always felt like he was a bit out of his depth at Liverpool and he could find this game tough.
He has already been booked three times this season in the Bundesliga and going up against tricky players like Foden and Doku could see another card come his way.
He isn’t someone who has committed a lot of fouls but when he does he normally gets booked. 60% of his fouls committed this season have turned into yellow cards.
Tip 3: Ernest Poku 1+ shot on target, Phil Foden to score anytime, Jarrell Quansah to be shown a card
Poku has had 15 shots and six on target during his Bundesliga and Champions League campaign this season. The tricky Dutch attacker is always trying to get forward and will be a big part of Leverkusen’s attack in this game.
Phil Foden has had a slow start to his Premier League season but seems to light up on Champions Legue nights. He has scored twice in three games and Leverkusen do tend to let in a few goals.
Finish the bet builder with Quansah to be shown a card. He should have tough night against City’s attackers and a mistake or two is likely.
