Here are Kai's five top football tips for the weekend, including the best available odds from the top UK betting sites.
Dundee vs Aberdeen - Aberdeen to win
On paper this is a really tough one to call given both sides' recent form. Dundee, in my opinion, are one of the most confusing teams in the entire league. They went to Ibrox at the beginning of the season and were actually unlucky not to come away with a victory. However, after that they only won one in the next six until Celtic came to Dens Park and, again, Dundee upped their game and more than deserved their 2-0 win.
Then, again, they went through a bad run and lost their next four games which included 4-0 and 3-0 hammerings to Hearts and Rangers respectively but then last Saturday pulled off a brilliant 3-1 win against St. Mirren.
Midweek they also went to Parkhead and only lost 1-0, although they didnโt offer anything going forward.
Aberdeen are having a resurgence under Jimmy Thelin, who must have been close to the chop. They went through the whole of November unbeaten which included a very impressive 1-0 home win against Hearts and the same result away to Livingston last Sunday.
They went 1-0 down against St. Mirren in midweek, turned it around to make it 2-1, conceded again, went 3-2 up only to concede in the last minute of the game but still remain unbeaten in the last five.
Aberdeen have kept three clean sheets in their last five matches, whereas Dundee have only scored three in five with no clean sheets in six and with Keskinen hitting good form and Lazetic scoring two midweek, I think Dundee will struggle to keep them out.
The fact that Aberdeen have also sorted their defensive issues out leads me to believe this will end up in an away win.
Hibernian vs Falkirk - Both teams to score
Falkirk are the surprise package in the Scottish Premiership so far this season and currently sit in sixth place, level on points with five placed Hibs. The Bairns havenโt conceded a goal in the last three games, getting impressive draws at Ibrox then against the leagueโs form side Motherwell.
They also havenโt scored in the last two games though but scored three against Dundee United before that. The last time the two sides met it ended 2-2, after Hibs had gone 2-0 up and now both clubs side level on points with identical records.
Hibs have lost the last two games, although they were tough fixtures against Motherwell and Celtic but risk slipping down the table if they continue to drop points. This game gives both clubs the chance to put pressure on Rangers and Motherwell and a win would definitely allow either side to over take Rangers who donโt play until Saturday evening.
Both teams will fancy their chances and I wouldnโt be surprised if this game ended up exactly the same as the last one.
Ayr United vs Partick Thistle - Partick to win
Partick have been on an incredible run in the Scottish Championship and their form coincided with St. Johnstone going through a rough patch and they are now joint top of the league. Their last two matches have been incredibly tough ones, first again, then league leaders St. Johnstone, in which they came away with a deserved 2-1 victory.
Then they had the game in hand which was their chance to go joint top and they had another impressive victory, this time a 1-0 against Neil Lennonโs Dunfermline. Mark Wilson is doing an excellent job at Firhill and has a team that gets goal contributions from all over the pitch but theyโve been particularly impressive in wide areas.
Ayrโs form has been really up and down this season but theyโre still sitting in third place despite drawing half of their games this season. They hadnโt won in five before beating Airdrie 1-0 last week in what was an unconvincing win. They just canโt seem to find the form they did last season but, again, they are still third!
I just think Partick will be too strong for them, even away from home, I think they can continue their brilliant run and keep the pressure on St. Johnstone.
Alloa vs Peterhead - Alloa to win
Alloa have the chance to put real pressure on both Stenhousemuir and Inverness on Saturday and could go second if results go their way. Theyโve drawn their last two games and if they had won either, they would be second, had they won both, they would be just one point behind Inverness.
They have the joint best defence in the side, with Inverness, and although they donโt score loads of goals, they are so good at keeping them out that theyโre flying near the top of the league.
Peterhead have been disappointing so far this season, every time they get a win they canโt follow it up with another and currently sit seventh. Theyโve also conceded the third most goals in the league and even though they won the reverse fixture 2-1, I donโt foresee them winning this one.
Annan vs Spartans - Spartans to win
The Spartans have been on a poor run recently and it looks like theyโre trying to give East Kilbride their top spot back! Theyโre currently still one point clear but havenโt won in their last three and got absolutely hammered 4-0 against Stranraer a couple of weeks ago.
Every team has a blip and this seems like the perfect game for Spartans to turn their form back around. Annan have drawn two and lost three of their last five and have only scored three whilst conceding eight in the same period. Annan are joint second bottom with no signs of being able to turn it around any time soon.
Dougie Samuel is the longest serving manager in the SPFL and will be desperate to get Spartans into League One, if they can get back on track then theyโll put themselves in a good position to do just that.
