Breeders' Cup Tips: Predictions, Best Bets & Odds for Del Mar

The spotlight shines on Del Mar on Saturday as the Breeders' Cup takes centre stage, showcasing a stacked card of nine Grade 1 contests, including European challengers such as Minnie Hauk for trainer Aidan O'Brien.
Here at Free Bets, we’ve picked out four top Breeders’ Cup tips and rounded up the latest odds from the leading UK betting sites to help you find the best value ahead of the action.
Breeders' Cup Tips
The headline act on Saturday the Breeders' Cup Classic, where Sierra Leone and Fierceness are set to renew their rivalry at 10:35pm.
However, there's a top-class supporting card of Grade 1 action including the Breeders' Cup Sprint, Mile, and Turf.
8:21pm Del Mar - Bentornato
The Breeders' Cup Sprint often rewards the favourite, and last year's runner-up, BENTORNATO, looks poised to go one better for Jose D'Angelo. Despite racing just once in 2025, he returned with an impressive stakes victory at Churchill Downs.
Proven at Del Mar, unbeaten in five starts at the distance aside from last year's narrow defeat here, and building on an excellent partnership with Irad Ortiz, he's perfectly placed second off a layoff to land the big one this time around.
Recommendation: Bentornato- 7/2 with Betway
9:41pm Del Mar - Goliath (Each-Way)
Arc runner-up Minnie Hawk will be a warm order to take this Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf, a race Aidan O’Brien and Ballydoyle have won a record seven times. The filly has had a hard season however, and despite her strong claims I prefer to side with Francis-Henri Graffard's GOLIATH (Each-Way).
Last year’s impressive King George winner (beat subsequent Arc winner Bluestocking and fellow rival Rebel’s Romance) looks to be hitting top form at just the right time following his Group 1 victory over Dubai Honour at Baden-Baden in September.
Recommendation: Goliath (Each-Way) - 15/2 with bet365 (4 places)
10:25pm Del Mar - Fierceness
FIERCENESS produced a massive effort in the Breeders' Cup Classic, pressing a hot pace before being caught late by Sierra Leone, and most recently showed a new dimension by rallying from off the pace to win despite veering at the break.
Once again drawn on the rail - as he was in the Pacific Classic - there's a risk of history repeating, but even then he ran an excellent 1¼ miles that day, proving his stamina and grit.
Pletcher's decision to base Fierceness in California this year is notable and reminiscent of Vino Rosso, who also prepped on the West Coast before striking gold in the Classic in 2019.
Recommendation: Fierceness- 10/3 with Coral
11:45pm Del Mar - Full Serrano (Nap)
Nysos is one of the best horses in training, but last year's champion, FULL SERRANO (Nap), can spoil the party in the Dirt Mile. A proven performer at Del Mar, he thrives over a flat mile and has shown he can dig deep when conditions get demanding.
Although beaten in his final prep, the same pattern played out last season when he finished second over a longer trip before dropping back in trip to win on the big day.
Expect him to be prominent throughout - he's been here, done it, and looks primed to defend his crown for John Sadler.
Recommendation: Full Serrano (Nap) - 4/1 with BetGoodwin
