Charlie McCann's Horse Racing Tips Wednesday, 14 October - Ffos Las & Nottingham
Charlie heads to Nottingham on Wednesday for his best bet

It's a busy day of racing action in the UK and Ireland, and Charlie McCann is here with his exclusive free horse racing tips - only at FreeBets.
A magnificent all-chase card at Ffos Las with Il Est Francais, Sinnatra and Tutti Quanti the stars on show in a real midweek treat.
2:55pm Ffos Las - Iron Bridge
The Twiston-Davies yard are in excellent form and top-weight Guard Your Dreams would have been a confident selection over two-and-half miles but, despite his excellent record fresh, his stamina will be stretched to the limit on ground described as a mix of good to soft and soft ground on Tuesday morning.
He looks the one to beat but marginal preference is for IRON BRIDGE who has run well in defeat on his seasonal reappearance for the last couple of seasons and finished last season on a high when outstaying Hold Your Fort over slightly further at Haydock back in the spring. Hold Your Fort has been kept on the go over the summer and would have got the nod on better ground but, if conditions are as slow as described, then Iron Bridge might again be the stronger stayer.
The O'Neill yard have had a good start to the season and Iron Bridge is likely to be ready first time out in the famous Hemmings silks. The Boola Boss heads the market with Sean Bowen a significant booking for Rebecca Curtis but he, like many in the field, would have preferred better ground. If Iron Bridge is within hailing distance going to two out, I will be disappointed if he doesn't run a big race.
Recommendation: Iron Bridge - 11/2 with bet365
4:05pm Ffos Las - Gyenyame
Ben Solo's sole point resulted in a 4l win but he has yet to race over 3m under rules and he has not been giving the impression he will improve for the step up in distance. That said Rebecca Curtis looks to have targeted this valuable local meeting, and he has had a wind procedure since finishing second on his most recent start at Chepstow over 2m3.5f back in April.
Cruz Control represents the Tom Lacey stable who had eight fancied runners – including two beaten market leaders - at Chepstow's three-day meeting last weekend. I would argue all eight underperformed with his 9/2 second beaten 13l and his two thirds (5/1 & 6/1) beaten 47l and 26l. yes, it is possible that he prepared good ground horses for the meeting and conditions were too testing, but the biggest price of the eight was 11/1 which suggests better results were expected.
I think Ben Solo will win if he stays, but I am going to take a chance on the bottom-weight GYENYAME. The eight-year-old has only won one of his ten chase starts and finished runner up on five occasions. He normally runs righthanded and ran poorly when last seen going anticlockwise at Newton Abbot this time last year, but I do feel this more galloping left-hand track and three miles will see him in a better light if his jumping passes the test.
Yes, that is a big if, but he looked to be slowly getting his act together when last seen back in March and am prepared to give him a chance at a double-figure price. The Joe Tizzard stable were amongst the winners at Chepstow and the saddle a couple. I'm not convinced stable jockey Brendan Powell would have had the choice between Gyenyame and Scarface – latter's last two wins came under Freddie Gingell – but he carries just 10st 3lbs and, similar to Iron Bridge, he should be finishing as well as anything if still in the mix going to the last two fences.
Recommendation: Gyenyame - 10/1 with bet365
3:04pm Nottingham - Knights Charge (Nap)
Sir Hannibal has been given an opening mark of eighty-nine on handicap debut following his Newmarket Novice success last month. That was his first start on turf and third overall; he is open to further improvement, but the handicapper hasn't missed him.
I backed KNIGHTS CHARGE (Nap) at Doncaster's St Leger meeting when second to Bourbon Blues who went off just 7/1 for the Cambridgeshire next time. The third – Wild Thoughts – scored at Ayr next time before also running down the field at Newmarket and, after just four career starts Knights Charge can defy a 2lbs rise.
Shane Foley is retained by the owners and comes across the Irish Sea for just the one ride for Roger Varian. The three-year-old has a good draw in stall five, underfoot conditions (good to soft on Tuesday morning) are ideal and I will be disappointed if he doesn't run a big race although this is a hot contest with many of the leading yards represented.
It was good to see Owen Burrows have a hugely impressive Kempton winner on Monday and his Heyzoom is considered the chief threat dropping down in trip with Oisin Murphy a positive booking.
Recommendation: Knights Charge (Nap) - 11/8 with bet365
This is Charlie's Nap of the Day selection - see how it stacks up against Alan Kelly's pick too.

Horse racing has long been Charlie's passion - ironic, really, as he'll never pass the vet again, as sports injuries have come back to bite - with a specialism in handicap chases over jumps and 1m+ handicaps on the level.
