There's plenty to get stuck into, so lets get right into it!
Racing Blogger's Horse Racing Tips - Newbury
Newbury has a cracking card on Saturday and there are a few that look very well placed by their yards, so here are the latest odds from the best betting sites, so you can see what prices are currently available on them all.
1:35pm Newbury – A Pai De Nom
A Pai De Nom can run a big race for Dan Skelton here over three miles.
He’s a six-year-old running off 124 and comes here after the Lanzarote at Kempton, where he shaped better than the bare result. Things didn’t fall right for him that day and the run is worth upgrading. This longer trip on soft ground should suit him much better.
Up against a few who’ve been chasing, his hurdles pace can be a real weapon. I expect him to make that count and go very close.
2:45pm Newbury – LulambaÂ
Nicky Henderson has won the Game Spirit Chase with Altior and he looks to have another top-class type on his hands in Lulamba.
He’s two from two over fences this season and has been seriously impressive, including a Grade 1 novice chase win at Sandown in the Henry VIII. I loved the way he powered away that day. He gets a couple of pounds from some of the main rivals and the race should set up perfectly if he travels just off the pace.
He looks a horse of the highest order and one of the most exciting five-year-olds in training. I’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t enhance his Arkle claims again here.
3:20pm Newbury – Let It Rain
Let It Rain looks to have been lined up for this by the Skelton yard and I think she’s very well handicapped off 124.
She had a solid pipe opener at Ascot when finishing third, beaten only around a length, and that form ties in well. If she reproduces her bumper level and the strong Chepstow second from last season, she should take a step forward here.
This is a valuable race and everything about her profile suggests she’s been prepared with this target in mind.
4:30pm Newbury – Risky Obsession
In the bumper, Risky Obsession looks a really smart prospect for Dan Skelton.
By No Risk At All and a £190,000 purchase, he already looks a horse with a future. I was at Warwick when he won the PricedUp Bumper and he powered clear by six and a half lengths, putting the race to bed in good style.
He looks a high-quality young horse and should go very close again. One to keep on side going forward.
