Supreme Novices’ Hurdle Race Betting Odds
Supreme Novices’ Hurdle Race – 13:30PM
The Sky Bet Supreme Novices’ Hurdle is the traditional curtain raiser for the four day Cheltenham Festival betting bonanza and there’s no better contest to set the pulses racing from the off!
The very best two mile novices around will gather at Cheltenham racecourse to prove themselves as the top dog. In 2016, Altior was a brilliant winner, while last year, trainer Gordon Elliott struck with shock winner Labaik at 25/1.
In 2018, there should be a regression to the mean, as a handful of genuinely top class prospect form around the head of the current betting market.
Getabird is the general 3/1 favourite for the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle on the back of a terrific Grade 1 race win last time out, but for some time was seen as more of a staying prospect. He has plenty of speed though, jumps for fun and will be hard to beat.
Owner Rich Ricci is also responsible for Sharjah, a horse attracting plenty of market support in recent days and is now no bigger than 9/1.
Maria’s Benefit is odds of 10/1, but more likely to be aimed for the Mares’ Novice Hurdle, but she’d be a big player here too, while If The Cap Fits and Claimantakinforgan look the best of the UK trained contingent.
