Brentford vs Newcastle Predictions, Tips & Latest Odds
Adam Martin
On Sunday afternoon we have got an interesting encounter as Brentford are hosting Newcastle in what could be a tight affair. We are ten games into the season now and both teams are sitting in the middle of the table.
They will both be hoping that they can get a win in this game and push into the top half of the table.
We’ve got three Premier League tips ahead of the big game.
Brentford vs Newcastle Tips
Tip 1: Draw and both teams to score – 7/2
Brentford seem to have found their way over the first ten games of the season. A lot of people had them tipped to struggle but with 13 points already they are looking steady under Keith Andrews.
Brentford have beaten Aston Villa, Manchester United and Liverpool, as well as drawn with Chelsea at home. Clearly their home form is where they are going to get points, and they will likely continue that in this game.
They will be taking on a strong Newcastle team who are yet to win away from home. They have drawn away at Aston Villa, Leeds and Bournemouth, along with losses to Brighton and West Ham.
Although Newcastle have only scored two goals in five away Premier League games, they are taking on a Brentford side who struggle to keep clean sheets. This feels like an even matchup where both teams could end up being happy to take a point and move on.
Tip 2: Igor Thiago to score anytime – 21/10
It’s hard to get away from Igor Thiago to score anytime considering how good he has been in the first ten games. He has started in all of Brentford’s ten league games and has scored six times already.
Not only is he Brentford’s top scorer but he has had the most shots with 22 and most shots on target with 12. He has also scored four goals in his last five matches.
At 21/10 he might not be the biggest price but in this current form you must take him to keep going.
Tip 3: Jacob Murphy 1+ shot on target, Kevin Schade to be shown a card, Igor Thiago to score anytime @ 12.84/1
Jacob Murphy is a criminally underrated player in the Premier League. The attacking midfielder has had a solid career at Newcastle, and his stats are showing he is going to have another good season.
He has made nine appearances so far with six of them being starts. However, despite the lack of being a definite starter he has had more shots than any other Newcastle player with 25. He has also had the most on target with ten.
Kevin Schade had a great season last year and is an ever present in the starting lineup again this season. The German has committed 16 fouls already this season and seen four yellow cards. Another one could easily come against a physical Newcastle team.
Igor Thiago has had a great start to the season scoring six in ten games. The strong Brazilian centre forward will have the strength to deal with Newcastle and keep his fine goal scoring form going.
