Celtic vs Rangers Tips, Predictions & Latest Odds

This may be one of the few times that neither Old Firm side fancy their chances going into a derby. Celtic have been incredibly disappointing this season, particularly in front of goal and have already dropped points four times in ten league matches.
Rangers have won two league games in a row for the first time this season but the performances are still some way off of what fans expect. Somehow though, Rangers currently sit third in the league just five points behind Celtic but eleven points behind leaders Hearts.
This is a really tough one to call, especially as this is the first time in history that both clubs have lost their manager in the middle of the season. Danny Rohl is only three games into his tenure and Martin OโNeill is only the interim at Celtic currently with one game under his belt.
Tactical shapes and styles are largely unknown going into this one but it should still maintain the fiery and intense atmosphere these affairs normally do, unless it follows suit of the first league meeting which many agree was one of the worst Old Firm matchups in history!

Celtic vs Rangers Tips
Take a look at our free football tips for Sunday's Old Firm League Cup clash below.
Tip 1: Rangers to score in the first half
Celtic, unlike most other seasons, have been really slow starters in the Scottish Premiership this time around and have failed to score in the first half of six matches so far. In the last four games, Rangers have started really quickly and I think that will be the plan for Sunday.
Rangers have tried to not let their opponents settle in games and on this type of occasion, with Celticโs recent form that could really shock them the way it did against Hearts last week. If Rangers can start with the same intensity they have in the last few games, I think they can get an early goal and keep Celtic under plenty of pressure.
Tip 2: Youssef Chermiti to score or assist
Thereโs been criticism of the fee paid for the big Portuguese striker but heโs impressed me in his last two appearances. He holds the ball well, his link-up play has been good and he seems much more confident after a goal on Sunday and an assist on Wednesday.
Heโs got a long way to go to repay the fee (which isnโt his fault) but the early signs have been decent and, if nothing else, heโs been a handful for the centre backs heโs come up against.
Tip 3: Rangers to qualify & over 2 goals - 7/2
With Celticโs recent struggles I donโt think there will be a better time for Rangers to get a positive result and with fans thinking the league may already be out of reach, domestic silverware would be a way to make it a somewhat successful season.
Both sides have struggled defensively so I think there will be goals in this one but thereโs something about the improvements Rangers have had under Danny Rohl that lead me to believe they can get through to the final.
