England vs Japan Betting Tips, Predictions & Odds

England will be looking for a stronger performance in their friendly clash against Japan on Tuesday evening following their unflattering stalemate with Uruguay last time out.
Thomas Tuchel’s men played out a largely uninspiring contest at Wembley against Uruguay as Ben White scored and then gave away a penalty, allowing the visitors to salvage a draw, ending England’s six-game run of clean sheets.
Tuchel is expected to recall a large proportion of his regular starters for the clash with Japan, with time running out to refine their play ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Japan, too, will be finalising their preparations and are eyeing another scalp following their late win over Scotland.

England vs Japan Tips
We’ve got three betting tips and the latest free bet offers for tonight’s friendly at Wembley.
Tip 1: Harry Kane First Goalscorer
Captain Harry Kane enters another World Cup run as England’s key man in the final third. The 32-year-old was in prime form during qualifying, scoring eight goals.
Kane was rested for the Uruguay clash, but will be back in the line-up against Japan.
Before the international break, Kane scored in nine of 10 for Bayern, including a brace in their Champions League win over Atalanta. Kane has scored in all but two of his games under Tuchel during his tenure as England boss.
Odds of 5/4 are available for Kane to score anytime, but the price of 7/2 on betting sites for the England skipper to break the deadlock is hard to overlook.
Tip 2: Under 2.5 Goals
England matches under Tuchel have been far from spectacular. The Three Lions have been efficient under his tenure, but excitement has been at a premium, even against weaker opposition such as Andorra.
In 11 matches as England boss, under 2.5 goals has landed six times. I’m not going to expect many fireworks out of a pragmatic Japan side either.
There have been moments of entertainment, including a 3-2 win over Brazil in 2025 along with convincing victories in qualifying over Indonesia and Hong Kong.
However, their scrappy win over Scotland was perhaps a truer representation of their style. Expect Japan to try to snatch a goal on the break and to frustrate the home side. An 8/11 price on football betting sites seems a solid bet on under 2.5 goals.
Tip 3: Ayase Ueda Over 0.5 Shots On Target
Japan have a number of promising attacking players in the final third that will be dangerous on the counter.
Feyenoord’s Ayase Ueda was a standout during qualifying with eight goals to his name and also got on the scoresheet in the Samurai Blue’s win over Brazil last year.
England will have to be watchful in and around the box given his recent form at club level, bagging 22 goals in Eredivise this season. Odds of 27/25 seem good value for the forward to test Jordan Pickford.
