Midjtylland vs Celtic Predictions, Tips & Latest Odds
Kai Watson
Celtic started Sundayโs League Cup Semi-Final brilliantly and deservedly led 1-0 at the break. However, being a goal up and a man up really didnโt make a difference as Rangers got back in the game and could have won it before tiring in extra-time.
Celtic just couldnโt kill the game off in regular time and probably should have gone on to win the game by more than two goals after missing chance after chance. This will be something that concerns any manager coming in, particularly with Callum Osmand being the only other out and out, fit, striker currently
In the end, it was a deserved victory and Martin OโNeillโs men have a final to look forward to next month.
Next up for Celtic is a Europa League clash against Midjtylland, and we've picked out three tips plus the top free bets and betting offers ahead of tonight's clash.
Midjtylland vs Celtic Tips
Tip 1: Celtic to win & both teams to score
Iโm shocked at this price, mostly because Midtjylland struggled to get past Hibs in the qualifiers. They currently sit second domestically and are in good form whilst scoring a lot of goals, thatโs why I think theyโll score this game.
However, I think Celtic have a stronger side and with Daizen Maeda back could really hurt Midtjylland on the counter. Albeit over twenty years ago, Martin OโNeill did guide Celtic to a European final in 2003 so a European run under him might not be too unrealistic.
Celtic, generally, have a poor record away from home but I think theyโll set up to hit the home side on the break and thatโs where they can be at their most dangerous.
Tip 2: Franculino Dju to score
The 21-year-old striker from Guinea Bissau has been in incredible form so far this season, scoring a goal a game in the league. Heโs actually scored in his last six games and that includes hammering Maccabi Tel Aviv, in 993 domestic minutes (13 appearances) heโs scored thirteen and gotten three assists.
Thatโs a goal contribution every 62 minutes which, over 13 appearances, is genuinely ridiculous. Heโs an incredible talent and Celtic will need to keep him quiet

Tip 3: Daizen Maeda to score or assist & Auston Trusty to be booked
As previously stated, I think that Celtic may turn to a more pragmatic and counter attack style in Denmark. Thatโs the perfect set up for the blistering pace of Maeda who will always look to run in behind and receive it.
Heโs averaging a goal contribution every other game domestically this season and will be looking to recapture his incredible form from last season.
In terms of Trusty, I think heโll struggle up against Franculino and Dario Osorio as both players can play in behind or come short to link the play. Aral Simsir will also always provide an option for them to bounce off of.
I donโt think Celtic have been impressive defensively and although he was decent in the air against Rangers, I think Trusty always has a mistake in him and someone like Franculino will force him to overthink his decision and make that mistake that will undoubtedly cause him to be booked.
