Tip 1: Manchester City to Win & BTTS
January has not been kind for Manchester City. In the nine games they have played, in all competitions, they won four, drew three and lost two. That wouldn’t be bad for some teams but not for a squad as talented as City’s.
The positive for City is that they have won both of their last two games 2-0. Beating Wolves and Galatasaray is nothing to get too excited about but it does show a return to form.
Now they must take on a Tottenham side that has had a rough ride so far this season. The Lilywhites have had a poorer January than their opponents. Only two wins over eight games this month have seen them slip to 14th in the league and dumped out of the FA Cup.
In the league, Tottenham have only managed three draws and two losses this month. However, they did have a good result in Europe on Wednesday, beating Eintracht Frankfurt away 2-0.
Expect City to show their class, but for Tottenham to make a game of it after a good result away in Europe.
Tip 2: Matheus Nunes to be shown a card
Matheus Nunes has become more of a presence in the Manchester City side as the season has gone on. The Portuguese midfielder isn’t a dirty player, but when he does commit fouls, he tends to be booked.
So far this season he has only committed 10 fouls in the Premier League but has been booked three times. He has also seen yellow three times in his last five games. He seems to be on a run of bookings currently.
Tip 3: Wilson Odobert 1+ shot on target, Antoine Semenyo to score anytime and Matheus Nunes to be shown a card
Wilson Odobert has been a consistent threat for Tottenham over the last few games. In his last five games he has had 13 shots with eight of them hitting the target. He has a good chance of doing that again here.
Antoine Semenyo has had a great season so far both at Bournemouth and now Manchester City. The Ghanaian forward has scored 11 goals overall. He has only played four games for Manchester City, but he has hit the net three times already and should get opportunities in this match.
Finally add Matheus Nunes to be shown a card. The Portuguese midfielder has seen four yellow cards this season with three of them being in his last five games. He could easily pick up another one here.
