Farmers Insurance Open Betting Tips, Predictions & Odds

The PGA Tour travels to San Diego this week for the Farmers Insurance Open, played once again at Torrey Pines, a venue that has been a permanent fixture on the schedule for decades.
The main point of interest is the return of Brooks Koepka, who makes his first PGA Tour start since 2022 after stepping away from LIV Golf.
It is a notable comeback, even if his record at this event offers little encouragement.
Scottie Scheffler is not in the field after his win at The American Express, removing the game’s dominant presence from the betting.
In his absence, the market is led by San Diego native Xander Schauffele and Ludvig Aberg, who won last year’s Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines when that event was relocated.

Tip 1: Winner - Hideki Matsuyama (Each-Way)
Hideki Matsuyama arrives at Torrey Pines with a body of work that suggests this venue owes him one. He has posted four top-15 finishes at the Farmers Insurance Open and added another 13th-place finish here at the Genesis just under 12 months ago.
Recent form is quietly impressive too. He closed out 2025 by winning the Hero World Challenge and had been compiling a run of solid results before that.
At the Sony Open, a cold putter masked an otherwise high-quality performance, where he ranked among the best in the field for approach play and tee-to-green output. With his driving, short game and elite iron play all well-suited to this test, Matsuyama looks nicely placed to contend again.
Tip 2: Winner - Maverick McNealy (Each-Way)
California has consistently brought out the best in Maverick McNealy, and Torrey Pines has been central to that trend. He went close to a breakthrough here when he was runner-up in the Genesis, ranking among the leaders for both approach play and putting before being edged out late on Sunday. That effort underlined just how well this layout suits his eye.
He had seven top-10 finishes in 2025, with five coming in Signature Events or the FedExCup Playoffs, and he regularly held his own in elite company. His return at the Sony Open earlier this month was satisfactory, one poor round proving costly in an otherwise decent week.
Tip 3: Winner - Hao Tong Li (Each-Way)
Hao Tong Li makes his Torrey Pines debut playing some of the best golf of his career. He arrives off a first US top-10 at The American Express, picking up where he left off at the end of last term with strong finishes at the DP World Tour Championship and Nedbank Challenge.
His recent strokes-gained profile is positive, ranking highly in this field from tee to green. With a good record on coastal layouts, there are plenty of signs that this venue could serve him well.
Tip 4: Winner - Aldrich Potgieter (Each-Way)
Finally, I can’t resist a small interest in Aldrich Potgieter. The South African, T15 here in 2025, should thrive at Torrey Pines with his power off the tee and ability to handle long par fours.
Length is a clear advantage on the South Course, and he can create enough chances despite demanding approach shots.
