Scottish Open Betting Tips, Predictions & Odds

The Scottish Open has firmly established itself as one of the standout events of the golfing calendar, with another world-class field gathering at the Renaissance Club for the final tune-up before The Open Championship.
Co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour and DP World Tour, the tournament continues to attract the sport's biggest names, offering a rare chance to test every aspect of their games in links-style conditions before the year's final major.
While the Renaissance may lack the history of some of Scotland's more famous venues, it has consistently produced compelling finishes and rewarded bold, attacking golf.
Rory McIlroy, Robert MacIntyre and Chris Gotterup have all lifted the trophy in the last three years, while winning scores have generally settled between 15 and 18-under when the wind has stayed manageable.
With another relatively calm forecast expected, the stage looks set for another birdie-filled week in East Lothian.
Our Freebets golf expert Ben Smith is here with his golf tips ahead of this week's action at the Renaissance Club.

Tip 1: Winner - Nicolai Hojgaard (Each-Way)
Nicolai Hojgaard has put together a strong body of work at the Renaissance Club, finishing sixth in 2023 before improving to fourth last year. Those performances are no surprise given how well his power translates to this layout, with the Dane ranking among the best off the tee on both occasions.
His form also appears to be turning a corner at the right time. A closing 62 at the Travelers Championship propelled him into the top 15 and showed the quality that's produced runner-up finishes twice on the PGA Tour this season.
Back on a course where he's consistently looked comfortable, he looks capable of taking another step forward.
Tip 2: Winner - Kristoffer Reitan (Each-Way)
After finishing 13th at the Renaissance Club last year, Kristoffer Reitan has gone on to establish himself on the PGA Tour, claiming the Truist Championship and adding several more high finishes against elite fields.
His game looks particularly well suited to this venue. The Norwegian combines length off the tee with consistently strong driving accuracy, while his iron play has remained reliable throughout the season.
The putter has also shown signs of improvement in recent starts.
Add in further strong results on Scottish links courses, and he looks overpriced in a field where he should be far more competitive than odds of 60/1 suggest.
Tip 3: Winner - Jake Knapp (Each-Way)
Jake Knapp looks an interesting one at a nice price now that his troublesome thumb injury appears to be behind him.
After an encouraging return at the Travelers Championship, he spoke positively about finally being able to swing freely again.
That could be significant at the Renaissance Club, where he led after the opening round on debut last year and was still third heading into Sunday.
If he's back to full fitness, this layout should give him every opportunity to make an impact.
Tip 4: Winner - Jesper Svensson (Each-Way)
Jesper Svensson arrives in Scotland with renewed confidence after recording top-10 finishes in both the Byron Nelson and Canadian Open, his best run of the season.
He's shown enough at the Renaissance Club to suggest he can improve on modest finishing positions too, carding rounds of 65 and 64 across his two appearances.
A 16th-place finish at last year's Open Championship also suggests links-style golf suits his eye, and at a three-figure price he looks capable of outperforming market expectations.
