Charlie McCann’s Horse Racing Tips For Friday, 29 May - Carlisle & Chepstow
Charlie heads to Chepstow on Friday for his best bet

It's a busy day of racing action in the UK and Ireland, and Charlie McCann is here with his exclusive free horse racing tips - only at FreeBets.com.
2:10pm Carlisle - Krissy
KRISSY was keen on the lead at Musselburgh last week but looked well ahead of her mark when making all, and she can follow up this afternoon under a 5lbs penalty.
Jim Goldie's five-year-old mare is in the form of her life, winning two of her last three starts. This stiffer track is harder to make all than Musselburgh, but she was still full of running when hitting the line last week. If in the same mood, a 5lbs penalty is unlikely to stop her.
Yafaarr looked ready for a step back up in trip when fourth at Redcar over 7f last time. His sole success to date came over the stiff mile at Newcastle, and he looks ready for his first start beyond eight furlongs.
A son of Blue Point does not suggest that he is crying out for the extra furlong, but I think it is worth a try, and he is much respected.
Recommendation: Krissy - 8/13 with bet365
3:00pm Chepstow - Alfaraz (Nap)
It is not a particularly valuable Novice Stakes at Chepstow, but there are three runners - all maidens - rated 86 or higher in the eight-runner field.
El Nay and Echo Of Stars - wearing a first-time tongue-tie - are respected, but if ALFARAZ (Nap) is more amenable to restraint in his first time hood than was the case at Newbury, he will be tough to beat given the promise he showed at the Berkshire track.
Andrew Balding's three-year-old pulled like a train, and looked sure to finish in mid-division as a result, but he kept up the gallop and did remarkably well to be beaten less than two lengths in sixth behind leading British Derby contender Maltese Cross.
He was taken out of a race at Chester when lame earlier in the month, and David Probert takes over in the saddle with Oisin Murphy unavailable. The Nathaniel colt was free to post at Newbury, as well as in the race, and it is a long way down to the 10f start at Chepstow.
The hope is that the hood and the run at Newbury will have taken the freshness out of the selection. He is a very talented colt, however, and I am sure connections are eyeing a Royal Ascot handicap, although the same could be said of El Nay and Echo Of Stars.
Recommendation: Alfaraz (Nap) - 4/5 with bet365
4:10pm Carlisle - Taylormade Lad
The hat-trick seeking seven-year-old Alpine Sierra is in the form of his life and followed up a 1m3f Hamilton success at the beginning of the month with a facile Musselburgh victory over a furlong further last week. He has looked a different proposition since racing beyond 8-10f.
He is the one to beat, carrying just a 4lbs penalty for that near 2l success, but I hope to see TAYLORMADE LAD reverse Hamilton placings with Alpine Sierra on 12lbs better terms for the near 4l he has to make up on Jim Goldie's likely market leader.
That Hamilton run was the selection's first start since October, and the lack of a recent run looked to find him out in the last quarter of a mile. He is only 4lbs higher than when scoring over course and distance back in August, although that form has taken a few knocks since.
He goes on all ground, and the hope is that he can keep tabs on Alpine Sierra before pouncing fast and late under Connor Beasley.
Recommendation: Taylormade Lad - 3/1 with bet365
