Charlie McCann's Horse Racing Tips Friday, 4 September - Ascot, Haydock & Worcester
Charlie heads to Haydock on Friday for his best bet

It's a busy day of racing action in the UK and Ireland, and Charlie McCann is here with his exclusive free horse racing tips - only at FreeBets.
4:15pm Ascot - Jolly Roger
Dual Bunbury Cup winner Aalto is the one to beat in the valuable 0-90 Classified event over 7f, and he followed up his win on the July course by finishing third in a Heritage Handicap over course and distance on King George Day at the end of July.
Ian Williams has pulled him out of two subsequent races on account of the rain-softened ground, but there will be no such issues on that front here, with conditions described as a mix of good and good to firm ground. James Doyle takes over in the plate for the first time, and a repeat of either of his recent runs at Newmarket or over course and distance last time would make him hard to beat.
But why isn't William Buick – in the plate for both his last two runs – in the saddle this afternoon? One would imagine Buick had a choice of Aalto and JOLLY ROGER, and he sides with the Crisfords' four-year-old who is yet to win on turf but ran well on both grass and dirt at the Meydan Carnival earlier in the year.
He has had a break since finishing second at Redcar at the end of April but has run well fresh in the past and can break his duck on turf.
The classic generation is well represented, but this represents a step up in grade for the hat-trick seeking pair Debrief and Suspicious Minds and the leading three-year-old may well be Malachy's Wish, although his best form has come on the all-weather.
Recommendation: Jolly Roger - 9/2 with bet365
1:30pm Haydock - Gentle Warrior (Nap)
Zimmerman came home alone at Ripon earlier in the week, but he raced wide down the back straight with stablemate Bollin Neill – finished second – and the result may flatter him although he only carries a 4lbs penalty for that fluent four-and-a-half length success.
The classic generation have won the corresponding race for the last four years, including with GENTLE WARRIOR (Nap) twelve months ago for Karl Burke from a 2lbs lower mark. Toby Moore takes over in the plate in this apprentice contest, and I thought he ran an eye-catching race at Hamilton last time when never placed to challenge under Sam James.
Yes, that win came on good ground, but he ran a career best when third to Sing Us A Song and Klassleader over course and distance on good to soft at the end of September from a 6lbs higher mark and has won on heavy ground in the past.
Recommendation: Gentle Warrior (Nap) - 10/3 with bet365
There is a £40k juvenile fillies' Novice contest that has attracted four runners. A pathetic turn out for the money.
4:30pm Worcester - Jet Smart
Dan Skelton could have a red-letter day at Bangor-on-Dee where brother Harry has a bevvy of attractive months, and his Mumford's Magic is only 1lb higher than when scoring at Doncaster back in February.
Dexperts Opinion and Paper Mill are two others to consider in a hot 3m handicap chase, but I am going to take a chance on JET SMART despite the fact that he was beaten 12l in the corresponding race last year off the same mark.
A multiple winner between the flags, the eight-year-old is a dual chase winner under rules at 2m4f but does stay this 2m7f trip, and he can cause a bit of a shock.
Recommendation: Jet Smart - 3/1 with bet365
