Charlie McCann’s Horse Racing Tips For Monday, 15 June - Wetherby & Carlisle
Charlie heads to Carlisle on Monday for his best bet

It's a busy day of racing action in the UK and Ireland, and Charlie McCann is here with his exclusive free horse racing tips - only at FreeBets.com.
Royal Ascot week begins with four flat cards on what is likely to be good ground, although conditions were soft at Uttoxeter on Saturday evening, and yet the official description was good. Laughable.
2:32pm Wetherby - Hey Havana
Theastral has a poor draw to overcome in stall thirteen, but Hugo Palmer has booked the champion jockey Oisin Murphy in the 0-65 3-y-old mile handicap. He was second at Lingfield (polytrack) over seven furlongs last time from a 1lb lower mark, but he is a full brother to Sir Michael Stoute's Group 1 winning sprinter Dream Of Dreams and is certainly bred to be much better than his current mark.
Sports Day is obviously thought better than his current mark, given he has been beaten at 2/1, 11/4 and 11/4 in his three handicap starts. Having finished a never-nearer second, he ran an excellent race behind the progressive Alice De Clare – winner since – at Yarmouth on his penultimate start over ten furlongs, before running poorly at Nottingham last time. I expect Callum Rodriquez to go forward from his good draw in stall four.
The vote, however, goes to Geoff Harker's HEY HAVANA, who is stepping up to a mile for the first time, having been beaten a never-nearer half a length at Redcar on his first start for the yard on his seasonal reappearance.
The selection is well drawn in stall one, and he looked worth a try at a mile at Redcar, although there are mixed messages in his pedigree as to whether he needs the additional furlong. Sam James was in the saddle at the Cleveland track, and he keeps the ride. You would like to think he was behind the decision to go up in trip.
The Redcar winner has done nothing for the form, which is a negative, but the hope is that the selection will be overlooked in the market against the higher-profile yards.
Recommendation: Hey Havana - 11/2 with Ladbrokes
4:50pm Wetherby - Bradbury
BRADBURY escapes a penalty for winning an apprentice race at Leicester this time last week. He has a poor draw to overcome in stall nine of ten, but will be about seven pounds higher in the weights when he is reassessed tomorrow.
At the time of writing, he holds an entry at Hamilton on Wednesday and, while he again wandered about when hitting the front at Oadby, he is taken to follow up. He is a tentative recommendation, as I will let him win if he opens anything shorter than Evens, given his wayward tendencies, but he has more ability than a fifty-eight-rated sort.
Recommendation: Bradbury - 11/8 with bet365
3:50pm Carlisle - Hostility (Nap)
HOSTILITY (Nap) is a seventeen-race maiden who is drawn out on the wing in stall twelve, but I liked the way he finished his race here behind the inform mare Krissy over an additional furlong last time, and he can finally get off the mark.
The drop back down to a mile does not appear on the face of it to be a positive, but I expect him to be ridden more aggressively back down to a mile with his stamina for the trip now guaranteed. He was rated in the high eighties for Joseph O'Brien in Ireland, and connections have done well to get him back down to a mark of sixty-two, although he has been raised 1lb – and was claimer ridden last time – here on his previous start.
Danny Tudhope takes over in the saddle and rode the well-bred gelding – cost 430,000gns as a yearling – to finish runner-up in a 7f Redcar Novice when sent off 8/13. He has also been beaten at 4/5, 6/4, 6/5 and 13/8, but I have not been to any of the funerals, and he struck me as one to keep onside last time.
Recommendation: Hostility (Nap) - 6/1 with bet365
