Barcelona vs Newcastle Champions League Tips, Predictions & Odds

Newcastle head to the Camp Nou on Wednesday evening for the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie, and they will be hoping to create a major stir.
Standing in their way of a quarter-final berth will be the illustrious Barcelona, and Eddie Howe’s charges will have to defy expectations and history.
Can Newcastle pull something out of the bag? We’ve supplied a few juicy football betting tips to mull over before kick-off.

Barcelona vs Newcastle Tips
Here are our top three betting tips and the best free bets ahead of Wednesday's game in Barcelona.
Tip 1: Barcelona to win and both teams to score
In the first leg, Newcastle came agonisingly close to taking an advantage to the Camp Nou.
Despite enjoying more touches in the opposition box and taking the lead through Harvey Barnes, Barca escaped from St James’ Park with a draw.
Newcastle, however, will have been encouraged by their display, and they backed up that result with a 1-0 win away to Chelsea in the Premier League last weekend.
Barca, meanwhile, warmed up for this game with a 5-2 thrashing of Sevilla, and they have kept their noses in front in the La Liga title race.
Anyway, Barca have a formidable record in European football, having won 23 of their 29 UEFA two-legged ties after drawing the first leg away.
Also, the Catalan giants have won 10 of their previous 15 two-legged ties against English sides in Europe’s elite competition, which doesn’t bode well for Newcastle.
I’m expecting Barca to dominate large chunks of proceedings possession-wise and to progress to the last eight. A home win and BTTS seems inviting.
Tip 2: Lamine Yamal (First Goalscorer)
World-class players can change games and win them almost single-handedly.
That statement certainly applies to Lamine Yamal, who grabbed a last-minute equaliser in the first leg, and I had a sneaky feeling he would have his say.
Yamal has been in exceptional form, netting five times in his past six matches in all competitions, and he will undoubtedly cause a handful.
Rather than opting for Yamal to net at any time across the 90 minutes, I’ve been a bit bolder and gone for him to open the scoring, which is worth jumping on.
Tip 3: Barcelona to Win by 1 Goal, Lamine Yamal (First Goalscorer), Newcastle 4+ Saves
To kick off proceedings, having backed Barca to win & BTTS, the winning margin is screaming out to me. It could be tight, so Barca to win by one goal has merit.
Yamal, meanwhile, could ask serious questions of the Newcastle defence. The mercurial forward may get on the scoresheet again, but he could land the first punch in this tie.
Round things off with the Newcastle goalkeeper to be in for a busy evening. Barca only registered two shots on target in the first leg, but I’m thinking they will be more productive this time, so the Magpies keeper to make four or more saves is attainable.
