Crystal Palace vs Chelsea betting tips, bet builder predictions & latest odds

Crisis-club Crystal Palace face perpetual chaos seekers Chelsea on Sunday at Selhurst Park, where optimism in both the home and away ends could be in short supply.
Palace fans are seeking to turn the clock back to 2025 with the first 25 days of this year featuring an embarrassing FA Cup exit at the hands of sixth-tier Macclesfield, the departure of club captain Marc Guehi and the very public announcement by cup-winning manager Oliver Glasner that he wants out.
Now they face a Chelsea team they havenโt beaten in 17 attempts, riding a 10-game winless run in all competitions and with top scorer Jean-Philippe Mateta reportedly eyeing the exit door.
Visitors Chelsea have won three of their first four games under new head coach Liam Rosenior, yet the performances havenโt been entirely convincing.
Rosenior is in need of a strong showing to really kick-start his reign and betting sites make them firm favourites to win Sundayโs all-London encounter.
Crystal Palace vs Chelsea Tips
Weโve selected three football betting tips for the game at Selhurst Park.
Tip 1: Under 2.5 goals
Mateta was excellent for Palace last season and his request to move on is a blow, particularly given the Eaglesโ lack of attacking options.
However, heโs been far from his best in recent months, scoring once in his last 11 appearances as the focal point for a Palace attack thatโs only managed 23 league goals this season; only Nottingham Forest (21) and Wolves (15) have scored fewer.
Should the Frenchman lead the line again on Sunday - and he is Glasnerโs best option right now with Eddie Nketiah injured - we canโt expect the best from him.
Palace have failed to score in 45% of their home league games this season and even Chelseaโs shaky rearguard should cope with what the home side throws at them.
The reverse fixture between these two finished goalless, the third meeting in a row to feature fewer than three goals, and Chelseaโs attack is best described as ponderous.
Itโs early days for Rosenior, but at this moment in time, there appears to be little difference between Enzo Maresca and Roseniorโs approaches with both risk-averse and seemingly reliant on a bit of magic from the likes of Cole Palmer or Estevao.
Chelsea have scored one goal or fewer in four of the last five away league games and Palaceโs defensive home record is decent, registering four clean sheets in 11 matches at Selhurst Park.
Tip 2: Draw/Chelsea double result
Chelseaโs odds on football betting sites have been shrinking since the match market opened, with some bookmakers going as far as to make them odds-on favourites.
The Blues are winless in five away from home in the league, so there appears to be little value in the standard match prices. However, itโs worth taking a look at the draw half-time/Chelsea full-time double result as one of our betting tips.
These are two of the best first-half teams in the Premier League, and would sit third and fourth in the table were it based on results after 45 minutes.
Palace have a tendency to tail off in games, an issue exacerbated by a lengthy injury list and low morale.
Glasner complained of having no options to bring off the bench last week in the loss at Sunderland and while Daniel Munoz and Ismaila Sarr should be back this week, Palace are still short on personnel.
Chelsea may not be pulling up trees as a collective, but they have match-winners in their ranks and they rarely fail to score.
Tip 3: Brennan Johnson over 0.5 shots on target, over 4.5 total cards, Reece James to score or assist
It's been out of the frying pan and into the fire for Brennan Johnson after swapping Tottenham for Palace this month, but he hasn't let off-field issues affect his performances for his new side.
Chelsea allowed Brentford to have 15 shots on goal last week and Johnson has managed five shots in his four games for Palace so far, with three hitting their mark.
Chelseaโs disciplinary issues are well-known with five red cards this season, while they are averaging close to three yellows per away game.
Palace have received two or more cards in five of their last six games and Sundayโs referee Darren England showed five cards when he coincidentally officiated the reverse fixture.
Rosenior is still getting to grips with his new charges and hasnโt quite figured out his best midfield combination. Heโs tried Reece James in there and at right-back, but the Blues skipper looks far more effective in the middle of the park.
James has nine goal involvements this season (2 goals, seven assists) and if he's handed a start in midfield, should have a positive impact for Chelsea.
