Liverpool vs Barnsley Tips, Bet Builder Predictions & Latest Odds

The final day of FA Cup action this weekend sees Barnsley travel away to face Liverpool at Anfield and below I've got my Liverpool vs Barnsley tips for the game.
Signing in as a lifelong Barnsley sufferer, you may be wondering just why TNT have picked this clash for TV, if it was the other way round perhaps, you'd understand it. But Barnsley are unbeaten in their last three trips to Anfield, winning an FA Cup tie there in 2008 thanks to a Brian Howard late winner.
Am I confident? No. Am I hopeful? No. But am I going with optimism flowing from my veins? Too right.
You'll note I haven't picked out a winner of the game across the tips, but who needs that when you've got goal bets, goalscorers and cards to focus on, without even thinking about a Barnsley drubbing.
Liverpool vs Barnsley Tips
I've put together three betting tips for this clash, and in a bid to be different from the rest, and of course, lean into my "expertise" on Barnsley, I'm going to focus on them way more than Liverpool.
Tip 1: Both Teams to Score
Barnsley have one of the worst defensive records in League One, and to say they're a shambles at the back would be letting some players off pretty lightly.
Individual errors, a lack of communication between the back line and some downright crazy decision making has had me losing my voice at Oakwell on more than one occasion over the past few weeks.
If there was any doubt in your mind as to Liverpool scoring, worry not.
As for the other red side on the pitch. Can Barnsley score? I genuinely think so. At their best, I honestly believe Barnsley to have one of the top three attacking units in League One.
Davis Keillor-Dunn leads the line, 14 goals from 30 games in all competitions this season, adding to 20 from 49 last saeason. It's no wonder Championship clubs are sniffing around now the transfer window is back open.
Throw in Reyes Cleary, a tricky winger who can get you off your feet as much as anyone higher up the pyramid, and Patrick Kelly, thriving in an attacking midfield role and bringing a real drive to Barnsley's attacking play.
Cleary has five goals and nine assists so far this season, and is also attracting interest. Bundesliga and Serie A scouts were at Oakwell for our last home game, if you believe the rumours. I hope they liked the facilities.
These three are the heartbeat of everything right now. And they're good enough to score us a goal.
Tip 2: Davis Keillor-Dunn to Score Anytime
Unless we win here, and face an equally daunting task in the next round, you'll not get another chance all season to back Davis Keillor-Dunn to score a goal for Barnsley at almost 4/1, so I'll be taking some of that.
He's in the peak of his career, playing as good as he's ever done, and is the man we rely on for goals.
He was the 4th highest goal scorer in the football leagues in 2025, with 22 goals, just five behind winner Erling Haaland. He knows where to find the net.
Liverpool have conceded to Fulham, Wolves and Spurs in recent games, and I think we could give the latter two a game no problem.
Tip 3: BTTS, Vimal Yoganathan to be Carded, Barnsley Over 1.5 Cards
I've argued my case for Barnsley scoring a goal higher up the page, so let's focus on cards here.
Firstly, there's no doubt Barnsley will get frustrated during the game. Liverpool are ultimately too quick at moving the ball, and we've often got ourselves into foul trouble in the league.
Four yellows in a home loss to Lincoln just after Christmas highlighted just how Barnsley turn when things aren't going their way, and with plenty of young heads in this team, playing the biggest game of their lives, it'll only increase tensions.
As for singling one out, Vimal Yoganathan is favourable to a rash challenge, and has actually been taken out of central midfield in recent games to try and protect him from getting into a battle.
But this game, I'm not sure he has much choice, with Barnsley light in the middle of the park after Luca Connell's red card against Wigan (there's that discipline I spoke about earlier), and the loan move out of Jonathan Russell.
We play two defensive midfielders, surely that has to happen away at Anfield, and Jonathan Bland is the only other, so it's Yoganathan back to his normal position, or playing someone (Adam Phillips?) out of position.
