Tip 1: Manchester City to win & both teams to score

Arne Slot’s men have suffered on the road lately, losing their last three away games on the bounce. Not since Kenny Dalglish in April 2012 have the Merseyside outfit tasted four defeats consecutively on their travels. This could be an entertaining game, but I’m leaning towards City to grab the win.
Tip 2: Under 3.5 total cards
While you might think this is a combustible fixture, it has been anything but.
Last season, Anthony Taylor kept his cards in his pocket, and before that, the past three meetings averaged less than four cards.
While there might be the odd meaty challenge, I think the referee won’t want to disrupt the flow too much. I don’t think this clash will be too feisty, so Under 3.5 cards seems a fair shout.
Tip 3: Erling Haaland 2+ shots on target, Mohamed Salah 2+ shots on target & both teams to score
Erling Haaland has been lethal this season, netting 13 times in the league, and 18 across all competitions which is scary. He will no doubt ensure the Liverpool goalkeeper is occupied.
Mohamed Salah, meanwhile, brought up a significant milestone last weekend (250th goal in all competitions) for Liverpool against Aston Villa, leaving him third on the club’s all-time scorer list. He’s netted in his past two meetings with City, and he could well sting Gianluigi Donnarumma’s gloves.
Games between these two sides rarely finish goalless; the last time that happened was in October 2018. City and Liverpool will both go for it, and I expect the BTTS line to be fulfilled.
