Charles Schwab Challenge Betting Tips, Predictions & Odds

Colonial Country Club stages the Charles Schwab Challenge once again this week, with the Fort Worth venue continuing its run as one of the PGA Tour’s most recognisable and traditional tests. While much of modern golf increasingly favours power and aggressive scoring, Colonial still rewards patience, control and smart decision-making more than outright distance.
The par-70 layout remains heavily shaped by its narrow tree-lined fairways, awkward doglegs and small bentgrass greens, placing a premium on accurate driving and sharp approach play. Players who keep the ball in position and avoid costly mistakes tend to separate themselves here, particularly when the Texas wind begins to blow.
Rainfall could soften conditions slightly and create a few more scoring chances than usual, although Colonial rarely becomes easy regardless of the weather. Defending champion Ben Griffin returns, while the betting market is led by Ludvig Aberg, followed by Russell Henley and Justin Thomas.

Tip 1: Winner - Pierceson Coody (Each-Way)
Pierceson Coody is worth having on side this week at a course he knows better than most. Growing up in Texas, Colonial is somewhere he has seen plenty of over the years, and that experience can be valuable on a layout where positioning and patience matter far more than simply overpowering the course.
The demands here should suit him, too. Colonial places a big emphasis on controlling the ball into narrow fairways and small greens, while players also need to take their chances on the putting surfaces when opportunities come along. Coody has gained with the flat stick in all three Charles Schwab Challenge appearances.
He also has a history of good results at Colonial dating back to his amateur career, so there are plenty of reasons to think he can contend again.
Tip 2: Max Greyserman (Each-Way)
Happy to give Max Greyserman a go this week after producing some excellent long-game numbers over the last couple of starts. He followed a solid PGA Championship showing with ninth place at the Byron Nelson, where he ranked highly in both approach and tee-to-green across the week.
That level of ball-striking immediately catches the eye heading to Colonial, where he finished 22nd last year while gaining strokes with his irons, so there is already evidence the course fits him well.
Greyserman still searches for a first PGA Tour win, but he has repeatedly shown he can put himself in contention and this feels like another week where he can go close.
Tip 3: Winner - Tony Finau (Each-Way)
Tony Finau arrives at Colonial with a bit more confidence after finally showing some positive signs again last week in Texas. It has been a frustrating stretch by his standards over the last year, but his performance at TPC Craig Ranch suggested the long game may finally be settling down again.
Finau has regularly played well here throughout his career. He has contended multiple times despite not being an obvious fit on paper for one of the longer hitters on tour. His ability to shape shots and control distance into awkward greens has often been a big asset around this course.
In a field lacking depth beyond the market leaders, he would not need to improve much further to have a serious say this week.
Tip 4: Winner - Emiliano Grillo (Each-Way)
I can’t resist Emiliano Grillo at Colonial. The Argentine won this event in 2023 and has several other good finishes here, with the course playing nicely into his strengths from tee to green.
His season has been inconsistent overall, but there was encouragement last week as he opened strongly and hit the ball far better than the final result suggested. A return to a tighter, more demanding test should suit him far better and Colonial remains one of the venues where he is always worth respecting.
