Latest Profit & Loss Figures
An excellent week ending Sunday, 17 May with a profit of £21.78 to a £1 level stake.
Tuesday’s three selections all obliged for a 40/1 treble, while we had winners 6/4, 5/4, 12/1 and 4/1 at York’s Dante meeting along with several double-figure places.
The narrow defeat of Albert Einstein (tipped at 3/1) on Saturday prevented a run of five winning naps.

Alan Kelly's Tips - Monday, 18 May
The northern meetings at Carlisle and Redcar provide Monday afternoon’s turf Flat action, while in the evening Windsor continue with yet another of their popular summer fixtures.
3:10pm Redcar - Ammoony (Nap)
Marco Botti’s Italian 1000 Guineas runner-up Lizzana, beaten half a length by Ed Dunlop's Just Call Me Angel, may be the clue to determining the outcome of this Class 5 fillies’ handicap. Prior to that excellent Group 3 effort at San Siro, Lizzana had just managed to get the better of Tom Clover's AMMOONY (Nap) in a four-runner affair on Wolverhampton’s all-weather surface at the end of March when conceding that horse 3lb.
On the back of that run, Ammoony was made favourite to go one better on her handicap debut at Lingfield a month later over today's trip of 1m 2f. No match for the year older Mythical Bird, Ammoony still put up a decent effort in finishing second on just her fourth career start.
Jockey Cieren Fallon is having a cracking run at the moment with 15 wins from his last 38 rides as I write (39%) and looks to have another excellent chance on this daughter of Zarak. The main danger to the selection may come in the shape of David O'Meara's Myrrh, a well beaten third behind Lizzana at Kempton on her final outing at two, but expected to come on for her first run of the season when third in a handicap at Doncaster last month.
Recommendation: Ammoony (Nap)
5:40pm Windsor - Rhythm N Hooves (Each-Way)
A field of 11 for this Fitzdares Windsor Series Qualifier, the majority of which have decent claims including recent Bath winner Regal Envoy, the mount of Saffie Osborne who enjoyed a good York last week. William Knight's charge won this race 12 months ago off today’s mark of 88, but I think it is the horse who finished a close third on that occasion who is worth chancing in an open race, RHYTHM N HOOVES (Each-Way), one of two runners for Robert Cowell.
Joe Leavy’s mount has been running well in defeat since winning a Newbury handicap last summer, both on turf and the all-weather. Beaten just over two lengths in the Scottish Sprint Cup at Musselburgh last month before putting up another decent effort at Goodwood recently, the six-year-old would not be winning out of turn in receipt of weight from most of his rivals.
Recommendations: Rhythm N Hooves (Each-Way)
6:10pm Windsor - Tahalel
This valuable one mile maiden fillies’ stakes looks to concern William Haggas’s Chimes Of Thunder, Richard Hannon’s TAHALEL, Withtearsinmyeyes from the Jack Channon stable and the Andrew Balding-trained pair of Trelissick and Zeriya.
Despite finishing last of 5 on her only start to date at Southwell last month, Zeriya is almost certainly capable of better than that, the daughter of Too Darn Hot sent off the ½ market leader for that one mile contest only to run very green following a bump at the start before swerving sharply to her left.
The debut run of Zeriya’s stablemate Trelissick caught the eye when finishing 4th of 14 on the final day of last month at Kempton. A neck behind the Juddmonte-owned filly in that race was the Charlie Appleby-trained Tales Of Wisdom, who went on to win at Newmarket on Friday. The betting is likely to prove the best guide to the chances of the Kingsclere pair.
The form Withtearsinmyeyes’ debut second at Nottingham has worked out quite well (winner 3rd in a York Listed race on Friday), although George Bass’s mount was no match for a promising Gosden filly at Wolverhampton 10 days ago. Chimes Of Thunder did well on her first start for William Haggas when beaten a neck by John & Thady Gosden’s dual winner Symbol Of Majesty at Haydock last month, Tom Marquand’s mount previously in the care of David Menuisier when 6th of 9 in a Salisbury maiden last October.
The daughter of Night Of Thunder may well prove the one to beat, although slight preference is for the horse who started favourite for that Salisbury race when finishing a close third, Richard Hannon’s Tahalel. After finishing second to Hugo Palmer’s 102-rated Fitzella on her debut at Haydock 12 months ago, Pat Dobbs’ mount failed to make an impression in Royal Ascot’s Albany Stakes on her next start.
On her reappearance, the daughter of Blue Point was beaten less than a length in third place at Doncaster last month, the fourth home home, Roger Varian’s Venetian Gold, going on to win at Kempton next time. Still a maiden on her fifth start to date, Tahalel can put her experience to good use with a victory in this informative contest.
Recommendation: Tahalel
