Charlie heads to Pontefract on Sunday for his best bet
It's a busy day of racing action in the UK and Ireland, and Charlie McCann is here with his exclusive free horse racing tips - only at FreeBets.
4:45pm Pontefract - America Queen (Nap)
Last year's Lowther Stakes 1-2 Royal Fixation and AMERICA QUEEN (Nap) lock horns again in the listed Skybet Flying Fillies' Stakes the feature race on the first of the Skybet Sunday Series meetings. All seven races are live on ITV Racing with another four televised from the Curragh.
Royal Fixation – when trained by Ed Walker - beat America Queen fair and square at York this time last year but joined Karl Burke in the spring and was recently sold to Ace Stud. Burke suggested earlier in the season that she had been slow to come to hand, but she was only a length-and-a-quarter behind America Queen at York last time in first-time cheekpieces.
She is well drawn in stall three – was slowly away at York last time – but preference is for the Richard Hughes-trained filly who looked a non-stayer over seven furlongs at Royal Ascot on her penultimate start. The grey is drawn inside her market rival in stall two and the hope is that Danny Tudhope can get into a prominent position as they come into the home straight although the confirmed frontrunner Miss Nightcap is likely to try and get across to the rail from stall seven.
The three-year-old is a strong stayer at this trip, and today's stiff finish should suit the selection although she, too, was slowly into her stride on the Knavesmire.

5:15pm Pontefract - Shoof Baeed (Each-Way)
The form of High Degree's second at Newmarket last time was given a huge boost when the winner – Al Aali – did us a favour at Glorious Goodwood from a 5lbs higher mark and he is now rated 10lbs higher than when beating the Haggas four-year-old on the July course.
High Degree can race from the same mark this afternoon but has now been beaten at odds of 11/8, 7/4, Evens and 10/11 in his four starts so far this term and he has been put in as a short-priced favourite again today at a top price of 11/10. I have looked for an each way alternative and felt the 6/1 for the three-year-old SHOOF BAEED (Each-Way) was fair given, after just two career starts, he is open to significant improvement.
The selection won at Redcar over 10f on debut and looked a non-stayer at Doncaster last time when Charlie Johnston – who was looking for a first Group 1 win in his own name at Saratoga last night with Ancient Wisdom – stepped him up to a mile-and-a-half. He is by Sea The Stars but his dam was a 6f winner, and he looks sure to appreciate the drop back in distance.
He is hardly thrown in from an opening mark of eighty-four, but the classic generation receive 7lbs from their elders and the corresponding race has been won by three-year-olds for the last couple of years.
Recommendation: Shoof Baeed (Each-Way) - 6/1 with William Hill (3 places)
