Hibernian vs Falkirk - Both teams to score

Hibs first match under Marink Reedijk didn’t go exactly to plan as they lost 1-0 away to Dundee United and ended the game with ten men after a late Jacob Devaney red card. With multiple players away on international duty it would have been difficult for the Dutchman to get his ideas across before this one.

Another week on the training pitch could be key for Hibs and playing at Easter Road could be an added advantage. The style is a massive change for the players so it may not still click yet but there should definitely be an improvement in performance from the last match.

Much like last season, Falkirk have struggled in the opening couple of months. Despite some good performances like at home to Rangers in the 2-1 defeat and the 2-1 home win against Hearts, they only have six points from eight games.

They followed up a brilliant victory against Hearts with a draw against newly promoted St. Johnstone and a defeat last week against Dundee. Now they sit second bottom and they really need to start turning those performances into victories.

Hibs will look to be aggressive from the start and get the home fans on their side so it might be a tough start for Falkirk. However, they have settled into a lot of games after starting slow and the last time they didn’t score was against Motherwell on August 9th.

This is an interesting one on paper and has the potential to be a goal fest.

Kilmarnock vs Motherwell - Over 2.5 goals

Motherwell are on a terrible run having lost the last four league matches. After a decent display at Ibrox in a 1-0 defeat, they were hammered 4-0 by Aberdeen at Fir Park, lost 2-1 at Dens Park then lost 2-0 to Celtic last weekend.

The reality is that game last weekend could have been 6/7/8 but Celtic just weren’t clinical and it was a Motherwell performance of old. There was no semblance of the side that went toe to toe with the likes of Celtic, Rangers and Hearts last season in that display.

It was so negative and has some ‘Well fans questioning their team this season.

Kilmarnock sit bottom of the table having lost five of eight matches and have the worst defence in the league. That being said, in the second half at Ibrox last week they were impressive and probably think they could have scored more than the consolation that they got.

They have good options in forward areas but can’t stop conceding goals and haven’t been as clinical in front of goal as they were at the end of last season.

These teams have two of the worst defences in the league and are both desperate to get a win which I think could make this an open game.

The quality which both teams have going forward will make it difficult for either struggling defence to keep out, another top flight match that I think could contain plenty of goals!

Dundee vs Rangers - Kevin Kelsy to score

Kevin Kelsy has scored three goals in his last five matches, against Celtic at Ibrox, against Japan for Venezuela and then last week against Kilmarnock. He presses well, he’s aggressive, athletic and has caused problems in every game he’s been involved in.

Naderi has been scoring more goals but he’s also crate at creating space and chances for Kelsy. Dundee will come into this game with confidence on the back of two straight victories against Motherwell and Falkirk.

That is what I think could be their downfall, Naderi and Kelsy will be aggressive pressing the defenders and will force them into mistakes. Considering his form and how Rangers have been playing, I think this is an excellent bet, particularly to just score any time!

Dunfermline vs Livingston - Both teams to score

Both teams will have been disappointed with their seasons so far. Dunfermline have two games in hand which would take them close to the top but they have only won three of eight so far. Livingston have won four and lost five of ten and have already sacked a manager this season.

Glenn Whelan didn’t last long at the helm before David Martindale jumped back on the touch line. After an initial bounce they have been brought back down to earth by losing their last two matches 2-1 to Ayr and Partick respectively.

Both of these sides were expected to be title contenders but currently both, performance and results wise, are miles off of that. Dunfermline are in better form and are unbeaten in their last five, defensively they look solid having only conceded twice in those five.

Someone is going to be on the end of a hammering from Neil Lennon’s side with the amount of chances they have been creating, could that happen against Livi?

Livingston have attacking quality and Robbie Muirhead has been great so will this be the game they turn it around?

Airdrieonians vs Hamilton - Hamilton to win

Airdrie have picked up form in recent weeks and are closer to hitting the levels that many expected of them at the beginning of the season. Before their draw with east Kilbride last week they had won three in a row, which are their only victories to date in League One, so far!

Hamilton are a different animal though, they are unbeaten, have won eight of nine matches and have only conceded two goals. No defeats and a +19 goal difference would normally be more than enough to have you top of the league but they’re unfortunately keeping with free-scoring Ross County who have scored 31 goals in nine games!

Hamilton haven’t conceded a goal away from home and despite Airdrie’s upturn in form, I still think Accies will win this one.
