About Fulham

Resting on the banks of the River Thames, Craven Cottage has been the home of Fulham since 1896, and it is London’s oldest football ground. The club have had a decorated history, and we’re not just talking about the Michael Jackson statue that was commissioned when then Fulham owner Mohamed Al-Fayed unveiled it in 2011.

Currently, Marco Silva is the manager. And after brushing aside talks that he could swap the delights of Premier League for Saudi Arabia, he has decided to stay on with The Whites, and help them build on their efforts of last term when they finished 10th.

Their highest Premier League finish to date has been seventh which they achieved in the 2008/09 season when Roy Hodgson, who is now in charge at Crystal Palace, was at the helm.

As far as trophies are concerned, Fulham are in desperate need of one. They won the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2002, and they came agonisingly close to lifting the Europa League in 2010, but they were edged out in an enthralling contest by Atletico Madrid in extra-time.

Fulham have some cracking matches to look forward to, as well as plenty of London derbies, and it’s fair to say that Chelsea are bitter adversaries (not quite like Arsenal and Tottenham), but it is a fierce rivalry nevertheless.

Fulham have also been relegated several times over the years from the Premier League, which may not suggest they are the most stable outfit. That said, they have plenty of quality in their squad, which includes Andreas Pereira, Joao Paulinha, Willian, and Bobby De Cordova-Reid, so they shouldn’t be underestimated.

Although Aleksandar Mitrovic has been tipped to leave Craven Cottage, Fulham produce an exciting brand of football under Silva, and they will be hoping to ruffle a few more feathers this forthcoming campaign.
