Newcastle vs Manchester United Betting Tips, Bet Builder Predictions & Odds

Manchester United’s revival under Michael Carrick will take the interim boss back to his Tyneside roots for their clash against Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
Carrick, a former member of Wallsend Boys Club, has enjoyed a great start to his spell in interim charge, winning six of his seven games in the dugout, propelling the Red Devils back into the Champions League places.
Newcastle harboured top four ambitions at the start of the season, but the extra workload of Champions League games have hindered their Premier League campaign.
The Magpies are sitting in the bottom half of the table, 15 points off the pace of fourth-place Villa.
Eddie Howe’s team have won five of their last seven against United, but will need to improve from their recent showings in the Premier League.

Newcastle vs Manchester Utd Tips
We’ve got three football betting tips for Wednesday's game, featuring a 3/1 bet builder and two picks for the St James' Park clash.
Tip 1: Manchester Utd win and BTTS
Although Newcastle surged through to the last 16 of the Champions League, their Premier League form is a cause for concern.
The Magpies have lost five of their last six, with the only respite being a 2-1 win on the road at Tottenham.
St James’ Park had been a fortress for Newcastle under Howe in previous runs towards Champions League qualification, but worryingly for the Magpies boss, his side have lost their last three home matches, conceding eight goals in the process.
A visit from the resurgent Red Devils is not perfect timing for the Tyneside outfit, especially with a gauntlet of tough fixtures on their schedule.
United can announce themselves back on the scene as a serious top four contender with another victory. Carrick has simplified matters on the pitch that seemed beyond his predecessor Ruben Amorim.
They remain a work in progress, but are developing the winning habit, including their comeback win over Crystal Palace at the weekend - a game they would likely have lost earlier this season.
Their recent record on Tyneside is poor, but odds of 3/1 are compelling for United to keep up their recent good run in a hard-fought win.
Tip 2: Benjamin Sesko to score last
Benjamin Sesko could well have been lining up against Manchester United had Newcastle had their way in the summer.
The Alexander Isak transfer-saga threw the striker market into chaos last year with the Magpies scrambling to find a replacement for their wantaway star.
In the end, the Red Devils swooped for Sesko with the Swede in limbo, leaving Newcastle to sign Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa once Isak completed a protracted move to Liverpool.
Although the early signs suggested that Newcastle had won that move with Woltemade making a strong start to the season, since the turn of the year, Sesko has found his feet, while the Magpies forward has struggled, notably since scoring the decisive own goal in the Wear-Tyne derby.
Sesko has scored in four of his last five, including three vital goals that have earned his team five points. He has shown character to brush off the early criticism and has the opportunity to flourish once more against a crumbling Newcastle defence.
Odds of 21/10 are available for Sesko to score anytime, but his last three goals have been the final goal in the game. I’m taking the bigger price on betting sites of 13/2 for that to be the case once more.
Tip 3: Over 2.5 Goals, Joelinton Over 1.5 Fouls, Harvey Barnes Over 0.5 Shots On Target
I’m taking a safer option with our bet builder, which comes in at around 3/1, depending on which football betting sites you look at.
Over 2.5 goals has landed in each of Newcastle’s last five games, and given their shaky defensive record of late and United’s improvement in the final third, I feel it’s a solid landing spot for the first leg of the bet builder.
Joelinton is known for his combative style in the Newcastle midfield, and in his last three games, he’s committed a total of 10 fouls.
Without Bruno Guimarães, Joelinton's physicality is even more important to his team, and it would not be a surprise to see him stray with a few loose challenges. As a result, two or more fouls for the Brazilian seems a sound choice.
Although moves for Woltemade and Wissa haven’t quite yielded the results Newcastle would have hoped for, the performances of Harvey Barnes in the Premier League have been valuable for the Magpies. He has been active in the final third, registering at least one effort at goal in his last 10 PL appearances.
