Tottenham vs Aston Villa Predictions, Tips & Latest Odds

Tottenham and Aston Villa face off in a potentially mouthwatering Premier League clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
This is one of the most storied fixtures, but how will things pan out? I’ve given you a few betting tips to cast your eye over ahead of kick-off.
Tip 1: Aston Villa to beat Tottenham - 9/4
Tottenham have made strides under Thomas Frank this term, and going into Matchday 7, the north London outfit have collected 14 points, which is four more than they managed at the same stage of last season.
Aston Villa may be five points worse off compared to the corresponding stage of 2024/25, but they have enjoyed a mini resurgence of late, winning their past two league games on the spin. Interestingly, Villa have prevailed in eight of their past 10 league games that have immediately followed an international break (D2).
Frank, meanwhile, has never beaten Unai Emery’s side in the Premier League in five attempts (D2, L3), and these all came while he was in charge of Brentford. It’s the most times he’s faced an opposing manager in the league without winning.
This fixture has invariably proved to be decisive, and none of the past 20 top-flight clashes involving these two sides have ended in a draw. You have to go back to 2012 for the last time there was a stalemate. I fancy Villa to take the spoils in this one.
Tip 2: Aston Villa Under 4.5 corners - 11/10
Villa have only scored six times this season, but they have looked dangerous from corners. Well, they’ve registered 19 efforts from corner situations so far this campaign, with only Chelsea (22) and Arsenal (26) managing more.
However, in two of their past four league meetings with Tottenham, they haven’t exceeded the Over 4.5 corners line.
Set-pieces could be a factor in this match; however, I’m thinking Under 4.5 corners for Villa seems to represent value.
Tip 3: Aston Villa to come from behind and win - 16/1
There is never a dull moment when Tottenham and Villa collide. Last season, Tottenham exemplified their unfortunate ‘Spursy’ tag in the league, and they squandered the most points (29) from winning positions.
On the 22 occasions they found themselves in front, they only went on to win half of those, while four ended in draws and seven resulted in defeat. It reflected a sorry state of affairs in the Ange Postecoglou era.
To support my first tip for Villa to win, I think they could do so by overturning a deficit. Villa have prevailed on two of their past three visits to the white half of north London, and in 2023, they mounted a successful comeback. I’m tempted by Villa to stunt Tottenham’s progress and come from behind to win.
