Truist Championship Betting Tips, Predictions & Odds

The PGA Tour returns to Quail Hollow Club for the Truist Championship, a regular stop that consistently rewards the most complete players in the field. Stretching beyond 7,500 yards, it’s a demanding par 71 where length helps, but it’s far from the only requirement.
Tight, shaping fairways put pressure on the driver, while the elevated, quick greens place a premium on precise approach play and a tidy short game. There’s no real let-up either, particularly over the closing ‘Green Mile’, where rounds can quickly unravel.
With a strong field in place and the PGA Championship just a week away, this is both a serious test in its own right and a useful gauge for those looking to fine-tune ahead of the next major.
Our Freebets.com golf expert Ben Smith is here with his golf tips ahead of this week's action in North Carolina.

Tip 1: Winner - Kurt Kitayama (Each-Way)
Kurt Kitayama appears to be finding his stride again heading into the Truist Championship, arriving off back-to-back top 10 finishes and trending nicely tee-to-green. His long game has been particularly reliable, and that’s a solid base coming into a test like Quail Hollow Club.
He has the tools for this place. There’s enough distance off the tee to cope with the yardage, and his iron play, especially from mid to long range, lines up well with what’s typically required here. When he’s striking it well, he gives himself plenty of chances.
The concern, as ever, is the putter. Even a neutral week on the greens would give him a fair shout at getting involved.
Tip 2: Nicolai Hojgaard (Each-Way)
I’m happy to go back to Nicolai Hojgaard after last week, where the end result doesn’t quite tell the full story. He did a lot right from tee to green, particularly off the tee, but couldn’t convert anything with the flatstick and that held him back.
The irons weren’t quite at their usual level either, though that feels more like a blip than anything meaningful, given how solid that part of his game has been this season. It’s not an area I’d be too worried about.
This setup should still suit him. He has the length to take advantage of the scoring holes and create good looks, so it really just comes down to whether the putter cooperates. If that improves even slightly, he’s capable of a much better showing.
Tip 3: Winner - Alex Smalley (Each-Way)
Alex Smalley heads to the Truist Championship off the back of a T7 at Doral, where he ranked 4th on approach against a strong field. That’s the level he’ll need again this week.
His iron play has taken a step forward this season, and that’s key at Quail Hollow Club, where hitting greens and giving yourself opportunities is crucial. He’s also shown he can handle this setup, with a previous top-20 in this tournament and a respectable T28 in last year’s PGA Championship.
Add in the fact he’s back in his home state, and there’s plenty to like. If he repeats last week’s ball-striking, he should be competitive again.
Tip 4: Winner - Pierceson Coody (Each-Way)
Pierceson Coody is worth a small interest at triple figures. He’s shown he can handle big, demanding layouts earlier in the year, and his game should translate well to Quail Hollow Club.
He tends to do his best work from the tee box, which sets him up nicely here, and the rest of his skillset has been holding together well enough alongside it. This is a much more mature version of Coody now, and he looks ready to take another step.
