Charlie McCann's Horse Racing Tips Wednesday, 15 July - Catterick, Uttoxeter & Lingfield
Charlie heads to Uttoxeter on Wednesday for his best bet

It's a busy day of racing action in the UK and Ireland, and Charlie McCann is here with his exclusive free horse racing tips - only at FreeBets.
2:10pm Catterick - Made All
He's Our Cracker is well handicapped, but he needs to learn to drop his head, and he reared as the stalls opened at Newcastle over ten furlongs last time. In the circumstances, he ran well to get into contention two furlongs out before he faded.
I'm not convinced he is crying out for a mile-and-a-half, but I will probably back him in-running if the talented Freddie Robson gets him to settle. His sole win came on polytrack over 10f off this mark under today's jockey back in March. The race is for jockeys who have ridden three or fewer winners at the start of the flat season, and Robson would be the best jockey on show, but I wonder about the suitability of the trip.
MADE ALL is a contradiction, given he is a confirmed hold-up performer but is a dual C&D winner who has finished in the first three in five of his six starts at the track. The selection has never won from a mark as high as today's (70), but connections have stumbled on a very winnable looking race.
I am not familiar with jockey Natasha Cookson, but she has ridden a winner over both jumps and on the level, and I hope she can produce the top-weight inside the final couple of furlongs.
Recommendation: Made All - 5/4 with bet365
4:18pm Uttoxeter - Le Gentleman (Nap)
Country Park did us a favour when getting up close home to outstay LE GENTLEMAN over an extended two-and-a-half miles at Bangor last time, and the latter is recommended to go one place better from a 2lbs higher mark today. The selection jumped well until two out, but he did make significant mistakes at the last two fences, or he would have hung on.
Jack Tudor keeps the ride for Oliver Greenall & Josh Guerriero, and the French import is open to further improvement, having had just four starts for the yard.
Presentandcounting was only beaten 4l back in third and did little for the form when beaten over 18l at Newton Abbot on Monday, but he wouldn't get three-and-a-quarter miles in a horsebox, and he ran well enough until his stamina gave way.
Theonlywayiswessex is a three-time chase winner who has been raised 8lbs for scoring at Warwick at the beginning of June. The hope is that he is made favourite on the back of what was a career best run last time, but I will be disappointed if he can give 3lbs to the selection.
Recommendation: Le Gentleman (Nap) - 6/4 with bet365
7:20pm Lingfield - Desert Shadow
Only four to post for the mile handicap, but it is an absolute cracker with the quartet all holding realistic claims.
Classic Encounter goes well at Redcar and bagged the favourite stand's rail when beating DESERT SHADOW a length-and-a-half back in May. I feel the latter can reverse the form on 4lb better terms, and I expect him to be the outsider of the field for Saeed bin Suroor. The four-year-old has been off the track since Redcar, when he was a bit keen in his first-time visor.
The headgear is reapplied by Godolphin this evening, who don't have many ten-race maidens – certainly not geldings – on their roster, but he has finished second on four occasions, and I wonder if Sean Levey – taking over in the plate for the first time – will make a beeline for the favoured stand rail this evening and try and make all the running.
Classic Encounter and Great Chieftain will likely be held up, which leaves Huscal – who has front run in the past – as the only likely pace pressure. The latter has only raced once at a mile – both career wins at six furlongs – at Windsor back in May, but he met trouble in running on that occasion – beaten 5l – and Tom Marquand returns to the plate for the first time since that run.
A trappy little heat, but the hope is that Levey can dictate his own fractions and kick again two furlongs from home.
Recommendation: Desert Shadow - 11/4 with bet365
