Charlie McCann’s Horse Racing Tips Wednesday, 8 July - Yarmouth, Kempton & Chepstow
Charlie heads to Kempton on Wednesday for his best bet

It's a busy day of racing action in the UK and Ireland, and Charlie McCann is here with his exclusive free horse racing tips - only at FreeBets.
2:15pm Yarmouth - Allegrino
ALLEGRINO was held up in rear, in a race which suited those who raced prominently, when third at Salisbury from a 1lb higher mark in an apprentice hands 'n heels race last time. That was her first start in over four months, and she is likely to strip fitter and a shade sharper for the run. The filly has yet to win on turf – her Novice success came on polytrack – and this will be the fastest ground she has encountered, but she is bred to be better than her current rating (67) given she is the half-sister to five winners. William Buick gets a rare mount for old boss Andrew Balding, with Oisin Murphy having six rides at Kempton this evening.
Note the course executive have said that the race – despite being on the straight course – will be run over a distance twenty yards less than its advertised trip because of rail movements? Why? How?
Billy Loughnane takes over on Lovers Leap for the first time for Jane Chapple-Hyam, and she is considered the chief threat, with the classic generation receiving 8lbs weight-for-age from their elders.
Recommendation: Allegrino - 11/4 with bet365
7:13pm Kempton - Caprelo (Nap)
Baileys Khelstar has been raised 3lbs for winning what was a three-runner race at Newbury last time under Oisin Murphy, who keeps the ride for Charlie Johnston. He has never won from a mark in the eighties, and preference is for CAPRELO (Nap), who returns to the AW having had a prep run at Goodwood, returning from a five-month absence back in May.
Murphy was in the plate when the selection finished second over C&D on his penultimate start behind Duke Of Oxford in December, and he races from the same mark this afternoon. The winner is now rated 9lbs higher in the handicap, and Hughie Morrison's five-year-old is a three-time C&D winner, including under Tom Marquand last May.
Dual C&D winner Goolagong would be an apt winner with Wimbledon reaching a climax this weekend, but he will need a career best to defy a mark of seventy-five, although he did win here on his penultimate start from a 5lbs lower mark back in May. He had his limitations, seemingly, exposed here later in the month, and I expect to see Caprelo come on bundles for his Goodwood reappearance.
Recommendation: Caprelo (Nap) - 6/1 with bet365
8:46pm Chepstow - Ataturk
I hope it's a good evening for Hughie Morrison, as his ATATURK can go one better than when second to Worlington on handicap debut and first start at this evening's mile-and-a-half. A 2lbs rise is fair, and Rob Hornby – taking over for the first time – is a positive booking.
The form book will tell us the form is no good, as the winner was beaten half the track at Lingfield on Monday, but the polytrack was riding incredibly deep and testing, and he was beaten before stamina became an issue – first start at 2m.
I'm not convinced Atalanta Mist will appreciate the step up to 12f for the first time, but she ran a cracker over 10f at Bath last time, and the form has been boosted by the subsequent exploits of the third. The chief threat is likely to come from Dash Of Class, who hit the line hard at Brighton when second over 10f last time, and I believe she will relish the additional quarter mile.
If prices allow, I will save on the filly, but I hope there are more reasons to follow Morrison-trained runners tonight.
Recommendation: Ataturk - 1/1 with bet365
