Charlie McCann’s Horse Racing Tips For Monday, 6 July - Ayr
Charlie heads to Ayr on Monday for his best bet

It's a busy day of racing action in the UK and Ireland, and Charlie McCann is here with his exclusive free horse racing tips - only at FreeBets.
3:00pm Ayr - Sweet Kiss (Each-Way)
The ground was still described as good at Ayr on Sunday morning – 2mm of rain overnight – but there is persistent light rain/drizzle forecast for the next couple of days, and I would imagine conditions will be no better than good to soft come post time for the 10f handicap.
Naturalia finished nearly 2l in front of SWEET KISS (Each-Way) at Carlisle over 1m3f at the end of May, but the latter is 8lbs better off – including jockeys' allowances – and can reverse the form on the revised terms.
Sweet Kiss has never won from a mark in the sixties – rated 60 this afternoon – but the mare has run well in defeat from higher marks in the past, has won on good to soft ground – handles soft - and all three career wins have come under the promising 7lbs claimer Jake Dickson.
Naturalia has never won at 10f – gets further - but she will relish the forecast rain and has won from a 1lb higher mark than today, although that was over 1m5f here this time last year.
The maiden Rumbustious is one of two three-year-olds in the field, and the Charlie Johnston-trained runner drops back in distance having failed to get home – led – over 12f at Windsor last time. He has a poor draw in stall ten to overcome, but I wonder if Connor Beasley will try to get on the lead and dictate his own pace back at a mile-and-a-quarter. He is considered the chief threat.
Recommendation: Sweet Kiss (Each-Way) - 7/1 with bet365 (4 places)
4:00pm Ayr - Penelope’s Sister (Each-Way) - (Nap)
PENELOPE'S SISTER (Each-Way) (Nap) has dropped to a mark 5lbs lower than when scoring over course and distance back in September - soft ground - and the selection was dropped out the back of the field by Lauren Young – not slowly away – over an additional couple of furlongs here last month.
Paul Mulrennan, who was in the saddle for two of her three wins in 2025, returns to the plate this afternoon, and I would be disappointed if she did not run a big race under her optimum conditions. Trainer Jim Goldie does not book Mulrennan unless he thinks his inmate has a decent chance, and I concur.
The three-year-old Hunterian looks the obvious danger for Charlie Johnston, having scored from just a 3lbs lower mark over course and distance last month. He goes well on ground with plenty of cut and, after just three starts on turf, remains open to plenty of improvement. The classic generation receive a generous 9lbs from their elders at this time of the season over a mile.
If prices allow, I will likely back both, but I do think that Penelope's Sister is primed to strike.
Recommendation: Penelope's Sister (Each-Way) (Nap) - 8/1 with bet365 (3 places)

Horse racing has long been Charlie's passion - ironic, really, as he'll never pass the vet again, as sports injuries have come back to bite - with a specialism in handicap chases over jumps and 1m+ handicaps on the level.
