Charlie McCann's Horse Racing Tips Tuesday, 18 August - Chepstow & Wolverhampton
Charlie heads to Chepstow on Tuesday for his best bet

It's a busy day of racing action in the UK and Ireland, and Charlie McCann is here with his exclusive free horse racing tips - only at FreeBets.
4:25pm Chepstow - Von Trotter (Nap)
A big week with York's four-day Ebor meeting beginning tomorrow. Moderate fare today and bets kept to a minimum.
Too Much Trevor is only 2lbs higher than when scoring over course and distance last month, and he and the recent Bath winner Honky Tonk Girl will have their supporters, but this may rest between last time out winners Rogue Exile and VON TROTTER (Nap) with preference for the latter.
Rogue Exile shaped with promise on debut – runner-up beaten over 2l by the 74-rated Splash – and went one better at Lingfield (turf) at the beginning of the month, beating Justice Court a neck. The second was due to run on the all-weather yesterday, and a big run would obviously be a boost to the chance of the James Owen-trained son of Blue Point.
Von Trotter finished second on all three of his juvenile starts over five and six furlongs and hinted at a return to form when a staying-on second at Ripon last month on his penultimate start. He went one better at Doncaster last time when making all on his first start at seven furlongs and can defy a 7lbs rise.
He began the season with a mark of seventy-four and, while he won't get a soft lead this afternoon, he can follow up with Joanna Mason taking over in the plate. This is invariably a big week for the yard, although they haven't quite got the ammunition for York they have had in previous years.
Recommendation: Von Trotter (Nap) - 11/4 with Virgin Bet
7:00pm Wolverhampton - Sunshine And Roses (Each-Way)
Samra Star has won her last two and has been raised 9lbs for that brace of successes, but she remains 3lbs below her highest winning mark, and Linda Perrett has booked Oisin Murphy for her inform mare.
She is a dual course winner and looks the one to beat, but preference is for the three-year-old SUNSHINE AND ROSES (Each-Way), who won a maiden handicap from a 5lbs lower mark on her penultimate start. Rose Dawes – who couldn't claim last time – gave the filly plenty to do when second at Haydock to a progressive, well-ridden Hugo Palmer horse last time and she can claim 5lbs this evening.
Well drawn in stall five, the filly will appreciate the return to tapeta and she gets the vote. Note she holds Blue Celestial on course and distance running from last month, although I thought the latter ran an excellent race at Southwell last time. Silvestre de Sousa returns to the plate for the Crisfords.
Recommendation: Sunshine And Roses (Each-Way) - 11/2 with bet365 (3 places)
