Man City vs Real Madrid Champions League Tips, Predictions & Odds

It was billed as the tie of the round, but the first leg between Manchester City and Real Madrid was a bit of a damp squib last week, with Real hammering the 2023 champions 3-0 to put one foot in the next round.
Fede Valverde's first-half hat-trick hasn't quite ended this tie as a contest, but it would take a remarkable comeback from City on home turf to turn this around - although the lack of the away goals rule means they can go all out on Tuesday night.
Is there still some life in this tie? We've picked out some football betting tips ahead of the game.

Man City vs Real Madrid Tips
Here are our top three betting tips and the best free bets ahead of Tuesday's game at the Etihad.
Tip 1: Man City to win and both teams to score
I think this tip is near enough a banker, or as close to a banker as you can have at this level.
They were well beaten last week, and it's not like the stats told a different story to the scoreline - Real Madrid had the better chances and even missed a penalty, so it could have been worse for City.
Obviously City aren't the same side they were a couple of years ago, when you would think they would give this a good crack and might even be able to overturn the deficit, but they are still good enough to get a win on home turf.
Guardiola went rpetty attacking in the first leg, and I think he will do so again with goals needed. I think they might cause a few nerves in the Madrid side, but I think they will have enough to get at least one goal of their own which could make it very watchable.
Tip 2: Man City to win by 2 goals
The most likely scoreline I can see tonight - although a bit of a long shot - is 3-1 to City.
I can see them scoring early, which would them make taking the game to extra-time a lot more likely to happen, but I don't think they're good enough at the back to see the game through.
A Real Madrid goal should be enough to pretty much put the tie to bed, and even with key players likely to be missing again, they still have the likes of Vinicius Jr and Valverde, who are big-game players and capable of scoring against anyone.
Tip 3: Erling Haaland to score, Rayan Cherki to score or assist, Vinicius Jr over 2.5 shots
City really need Haaland to step up tonight, having been pretty anonymous in the first leg and currently on the back of a three-game stretch without a goal.
It's no coincidence that City's form has dropped off with Haaland struggling to find the net in recent weeks, but he has to make an impact tonight.
Cherki is an interesting player. He has so much ability but has struggled to consistently earn a starting spot, but given what is needed tonight, I think he will be given a full licence to be creative and support Haaland, and prove he belongs at this level.
The threat of Vinicius on the break looms large though. He had four shots, two of them on target (he missed a penalty) in the first leg, and hsi pace will be a massive threat and with players like Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe injured, everything should go through him in attack which will give him plenty of opportunity.
