Kai is back with his free Scottish football tips for a busy weekend of action north of the border.
Aberdeen vs Livingston - Aberdeen to win
Aberdeen are the only side in the Scottish Premiership that are yet to score a goal and gain a point this season. They actually played pretty well against Falkirk and definitely deserved at least a point from the game but it wasnโt to be. Since that match theyโve made some really strong signings, they brought in Mitchell Frame as a back-up left back, last seasonโs top scorer Kevin Nisbet returned and Scotland international Stuart Armstrong joined on a free.
However, potentially the signing of the window happened on deadline day, somehow the Dons managed to convince Jesper Karlsson on loan from Bologna. He previously worked with Jimmy Thelin whilst both were at Elfsborg before Karlsson moved to AZ Alkmaar. In 123 appearances in the Netherlands the Swedish winger scored 46 goals and had 32 assists, 78 goal contributions in total led to Bologna paying around ยฃ9.5m for his services.
This is an absolute coup for Aberdeen and theyโve really strengthened their squad since the last game, which they probably wouldโve won if they werenโt reduced to 10 men.
Livingston under David Martindale are always a tough opponent because of how well organised they are so it wonโt be easy but I fancy a home win in this one and Thelin really needs it to ease the pressure thatโs building up on him.
Rangers vs Hearts - Both teams to score
Pressure is mounting on Russell Martin by the game and Rangers have three home games in a row in different competitions, to save his future at the club, they are all must win games for me.
Starting off with Hearts is difficult, Derek McInnes has just won manager of the month and they joint top of the league with Celtic currently. Hearts only dropped points this season when they came back from 3-0 down against Motherwell at Tynecastle last month. They managed wins away at Dundee United and Livingston, two very tough places to go. They also had a comfortable opening day victory against Aberdeen at home.
With all the new players theyโve added I donโt think theyโve quite hit their top level yet, which bodes well for Hearts fans!
Rangers are still yet to win and have had a disastrous start to the season, their performance against Celtic was probably their best of the domestic season so far but that isnโt saying much and they still couldnโt come away with a win.
There hasnโt been much positivity surrounding Rangers and their performances so far this season so this is the chance to finally kick start the season but itโs one of the toughest games they couldโve asked for straight after the international break.
Dundee vs Motherwell - Motherwell to win
Motherwell are in the same position as Rangers having drawn all of their games so far this season but theyโre honestly the side Iโve been most impressed with so far this season. Jens Berthel Askou has them playing football some โWell fans would have never imagined they were capable of last season.
Their press is intense and aggressive all over the pitch, when theyโre on the ball the passing is short, sharp and quick. Theyโre creating plenty of chances, they just need to work on finishing those chances and will be hoping new signings Callum Hendry and Regan Charles-Cook can help with that.
Dundee, despite a good performance at Ibrox against Rangers, havenโt been able to build on that and havenโt scored in their last two matches. They were comfortably beaten 2-0 by Dundee United in the derby and after the goodwill gained from the Ibrox performance, doubts over Steven Pressley have now begun to creep back in.
They havenโt offered much going forward and defensively they havenโt looked great either, I actually fancy this one to be a comfortable win for the North Lanarkshire side.
Raith Rovers vs St Johnstone - Both teams to score
The top two in the Championship clash on Saturday in what should be a really exciting game. Raith responded to a loss against Partick with a solid 1-0 away in Greenock against Morton last week. St. Johnstone werenโt playing due to the international break so they have a game in hand over Raith, who are currently level on points with them.
St. Johnstone could only draw with Morton last time out but thatโs the first blip in what has been an incredible start to the season for Simo Valakariโs side. Theyโve dominated every league game theyโve played in up until that point so it was perhaps a bit of a reality check and a realisation they wonโt be able to completely control every game.
They still look, comfortably, like the best side in the league and, on paper, I think they have the strongest squad right now. Theyโve scored ten goals in four games whilst only conceding two. Raith have conceded four in five but have actually only conceded in two games and have kept clean sheets in three of their last four Championship matches.
It should be a tight game but I think both teams have enough quality to at least score once.
Alloa vs Montrose - Alloa to win
Alloa had started the season terrifically before losing 1-0 to Inverness last time out which is nothing to be ashamed of. Theyโve won three out of four games so far and have only conceded twice, with two of their wins being 1-0s, including an impressive victory at home to Hamilton.
Montrose on the other hand, have only won once this season but it was last time out at home to Peterhead. Theyโve conceded ten goals in five matches so far this season and managed to score six (which is actually more than Alloa) but have played one more match than their opponents.
I think Montrose will struggle to break down Alloaโs strong defence and I donโt think the away side will be able to stop the home side from scoring. On paper, this should be a comfortable win for the Wasps.

Scottish Football Tips - Weekly Predictions from Freebets
Scottish football is a world full of tradition and surprises, making it an excellent focus for fans and anyone interested in betting.
Whether you follow big clubs like Celtic and Rangers as fans or are new to the Scottish leagues, having some helpful betting tips can make things more enjoyable and interesting. We may even improve your betting choices from time to time!
SPFL Betting Tips
Start by getting to know the basics. The Scottish Premiership, the top league, is often led by Celtic and Rangers. Usually too strong for the rest, but other clubs like Hearts, Hibernian, and others, can pull off unexpected wins, shocking the big two.
One point to remember is that the Scottish weather can quietly affect games a little more than in other parts of the UK, though of course, players are generally used to it. Scotlandโs cold, wet, and windy, sometimes even in summer, and this can all change how matches play out.
Like any other football league, how a team has been playing recently is very important.
In Scotlandโs smaller league system, teams face each other a little more often, so recent results, both in terms of last fixtures and previous head to head meetings, can tell you a lot. With this, it's important for you to be as up to date as the best betting sites with information, and recent records.
Finally, don't forget to check for things like injuries or changes in the line up. A missing key player or someone coming back can make a big difference in any football league. As you move down the footballing pyramid, injuries can often take their toll more than at the top, with smaller squads, and replacements of a lower quality the norm for many.
Scottish Lower League Betting Tips
Don't forget the lower leagues when you are looking at betting on Scottish football.
The Championship, League One, and League Two have smaller teams involved that might not get much attention. Still, these leagues can offer good opportunities for punters, especially if you become an expert in one particular league.
Alongside the league action, there are regular cup games, which add a new layer to Scottish football betting.
This can also be a minefield, though, as per other European leagues, changed teams, resting key players and how seriously these competitions are being taken by some are all additional questions that should be in your thought process before placing your bets.
