Latest Tennis Betting Tips
Our resident tennis expert, Ben Smith, brings you the latest tennis tips and free tennis predictions for the the final Grand Slam of the year, the US Open.
US Open Men’s Singles
With every men’s Grand Slam, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz continue to pull further clear as the standout market leaders.
Between them, the world’s top two have captured the last seven majors. They’ve also met in the final of the last two Grand Slams, as well as in the Cincinnati Open final, the only event either has played since Wimbledon.
At SW19, Sinner could be backed at 2/1 or bigger. At Flushing Meadows, it’s Alcaraz who has drifted to a similar price, nudging just above that mark on the exchanges.
Given their supremacy, the chance to back one of them at those prices is bound to attract interest, all the more so with Alcaraz fresh from lifting the title in Ohio. Still, with the Spaniard’s modest record at Grand Slam level on hard courts, he’s the one we’ll look to oppose with an each-way play from his quarter.
US Open Men’s Singles - Ben Shelton (Each-Way)
Americans once ruled the men’s singles in New York. From the Connors-McEnroe stranglehold of the '70s and '80s, to the Sampras-Agassi rivalry that carried through the '90s and into the early 2000s, the US Open was for decades a showcase of Yank success.
The baton passed to Andy Roddick in 2003, and few would have believed then that, by 2025, no home player would have lifted the men’s trophy since.
Taylor Fritz came within one win of ending the drought last year, and he may go close again, but the rapidly improving Ben Shelton takes preference.
At 22 years of age, Shelton is progressing at a promising rate. He burst onto the scene in New York two years ago, reaching the semi-finals as an unseeded prospect.
He notched a couple of trophies in the six months that followed, but 2025 has marked a real breakthrough with a semi-final run in Melbourne, a Wimbledon quarter-final, and the crowning moment of his career so far, winning the Canadian Open.
The milestones are coming thick and fast, and with the level he showed on both serve and return in Toronto, there’s every reason to think he could take another big step forward over the next fortnight.
He is projected to meet Alcaraz in the quarter-finals. Shelton’s route looks fairly kind, whereas the 2022 champion must negotiate a tricky opener against Reilly Opelka and could also run into the unpredictable yet classy Daniil Medvedev in round four.
US Open Men’s Singles - Karen Khachanov (Quarter 2 Winner)
The 2020 US Open remains the closest Alexander Zverev has come to a major title. Had he taken the deciding-set tie-break against Dominic Thiem that day, he might well be a multiple Grand Slam champion by now. Instead, he has repeatedly fallen short, often surrendering winning positions, surely a lingering consequence of past scars.
It is no surprise Zverev is favoured to come through his quarter, but backing him at the prices looks a brave call. Gael Monfils may be in the twilight of his career, but his win over Fritz in Melbourne showed he can still be a handful in the first week. Or should Felix Auger-Aliassime get past the Frenchman in their projected second-round clash, he’d represent a stern test for Zverev in round three.
Andrey Rublev could be next for Zverev, before a possible quarter-final with the value play in this section, Karen Khachanov. The Russian was excellent at Wimbledon, matching a personal-best quarter-final berth before falling to Fritz in a high-quality battle.
Khachanov went on to make the final in Toronto, only the second Masters 1000 final of his life, and pushed Shelton agonisingly close in a match that enhanced both players’ reputations.
The 29-year-old has a relatively soft draw in the early rounds. A meeting with Alex de Minaur could await in round four, but that is manageable on current form. Having already reached the semi-finals at Flushing Meadows once before, Khachanov is performing well enough to suggest he could do so again.
US Open Women’s Singles
Iga Swiatek has snatched favouritism from Aryna Sabalenka in the outright betting after winning Wimbledon and the Cincinnati Open.
The Pole swept to the title in Ohio without dropping a set, underlining the consistency and dominance that had been missing during a difficult 12 months before Wimbledon.
US Open Women’s Singles - Iga Swiatek
Swiatek’s price was already narrowing towards Sabalenka’s before the draw, and it was the draw itself that cemented the second seed’s status as the one to beat.
Compared with the assignments handed to other leading contenders, Swiatek has little to worry about until at least the quarter-finals, where a rematch with Amanda Anisimova, whom she dismantled at Wimbledon this summer, could be on the cards.
Ordinarily, a possible semi-final with Coco Gauff would look a daunting prospect for a 3/1 shot. Not this time, though, with the American’s serve in disarray, prompting a late coaching shake-up on the eve of the tournament.
Sabalenka faces a far tougher path. A section that could throw up Leylah Fernandez - a former US Open finalist and this year’s Washington champion - rising star Clara Tauson, and the dangerous Elena Rybakina makes her route to the semis anything but straightforward. At similar odds to Swiate, she is hard to support.
US Open Women’s Singles - Linda Noskova (Quarter 3 Winner)
Gauff’s struggles make her quarter one of the most appealing betting heats - all the more so with her main dangers coming from Madison Keys, who remains erratic, and Naomi Osaka, brilliant in Montreal until the pressure cranked up in the final.
Some may look to Karolina Muchova, but just as it appeared she had put her injury troubles behind her, they resurfaced in a straight-sets loss to Varvara Gracheva in Cincinnati.
Instead, I am drawn to Linda Noskova, the Czech talent whose aggressive style and powerful groundstrokes look perfectly suited to thrive on this surface for years to come.
She lifted the WTA 500 title in Monterrey a year ago and impressed again on the Middle East hard courts earlier this season, pushing Swiatek close in Doha and beating Jessica Pegula in Dubai.
Still only 20, she reached the final in Prague last month and has the weapons to trouble her compatriot Muchova in a potential third-round clash - and perhaps go even deeper.

Tennis Betting Markets
Mastering the different tennis betting markets is key to making the most of your tennis predictions. Whether you're backing a tournament favourite or hunting for value in lesser-known markets, knowing where and how to bet gives tennis bettors a real advantage along with selecting the best odds.
Match Winner
One of the most common strategies is backing the player you think will win a particular match. It's perfect for newcomers and accumulator punters, offering a straightforward way to build your tennis bets.
Correct Score
Predicting the exact score is a smart move for bigger odds and potentially higher rewards. Correct score betting is ideal for those who study form trends, head-to-head stats, and past matchups between players.
Handicap Betting
Handicap betting sees one player given a head start or deficit in games to even out the match odds. It's a great market to explore for value beyond backing short-priced favourites.
Set Betting
Set betting lets you predict which player will win a specific set. It's a strong option for punters who enjoy live, in-play betting, especially in matches where momentum shifts are expected.
Total Games
Over/under total games markets see you betting on how many total games there will be in a match.
A smart betting strategy often highlights when a match will likely go long or wrap up quickly based on playing styles, surface preference, and player stamina.
Spotting trends like big servers struggling to break each other or dominant players racing through sets can make this market particularly profitable.
Other Tennis Betting Markets
If you're looking for even more ways to find value in tennis bets, these alternative markets offer extra opportunities:
First Set Winner
Backing the First Set Winner market is spotting players who start fast and seize early momentum in a match.
Some players consistently come flying out of the blocks, putting pressure on their opponents from the very first game.
Identifying these quick starters through recent form, head-to-head records, and playing conditions can lead to banking some early profit.
This market is advantageous when betting on matches where one player is known for strong openings but may not always maintain their level across three or five sets, but it is usually a good one for in-play betting.
Outright & Each-Way Betting
Outright and each-way betting focuses on predicting who will be the tournament winner or reach the final of a tournament. These bets can offer outstanding value, particularly before a tournament starts.
Tie-Break Played
This betting market is ideal when two big servers clash, making breaks of serve unlikely. Betting on a tie-break being played can add an extra layer of excitement to tight matches.
Most Aces
For matches featuring huge servers, betting on who will hit the most aces can be a strong angle. Look for players with dominant serves and a preference for quicker court surfaces.
