St Mirren vs Partick Tips: Premiership Playoff Second Leg with Kai Watson

It was a closely contested first leg in the Scottish Premiership play-off final between Partick and St. Mirren at Firhill on Thursday.
There’s so much riding on the second-leg after it ended 1-1, although Mark Wilson would have wanted to make the most of the home advantage, it’s still there for the taking.
St. Mirren had such a poor end to the season but still have a squad of players with plenty of Premiership experience and quality on their day.
Partick had a brilliant season and were unlucky that St. Johnstone ended the season so strongly or they would’ve had a real chance at automatic promotion.
St Mirren vs Partick Tips
Partick started the first leg brightly and Aidan Fitzpatrick fizzed an early effort wide of the far post after having cut in from the left wing.
Alex Samuel had a massive chance on the 23rd minute, after a poor defensive header, Samuel outmuscled Gogic but Sinclair done just enough to close him down and save his poked effort which then hit back off of the striker.
Tony Watt then had a decent left-footed shot which Sinclair made a smart save from but after all that pressure, St. Mirren would be the one to take the lead.
Good play from Mandron played in Killian Phillips who controlled the ball well inside the box before firing in a low shot with the outside of his right boot.
In the 62nd minute, some excellent work from Watt led to him firing in a cross which Fitzpatrick dispatched with aplomb.
Aside from a weak Idowu effort after a brilliant run not much else happened and the game ended all square.
Tip 1: Double Chance - Partick or draw - 23/20 - bet365
After Partick having numerous chances in the first half before going behind, I think they can do the same in this game but hopefully take their chances this time around. They were direct and caused St. Mirren’s back three plenty of problems.
If they continue to go with Samuel and Watt then they have two aggressive strikers that will press and harry until they can’t anymore. They’ve scored plenty this season and there’s so much pressure on St. Mirren that it could take its toll on their game.
Mark Wilson has done an excellent job this season and it would be incredible if he could take the jags to the Premiership given that no one predicted this in August!
Tip 2: Alex Gogic to be booked - 8/5 - bet365
There’s going to be a lot of pressure in this game and I think St. Mirren’s defence will be under the cosh at certain moments and, if Partick go with two up top, then Samuel and Watt are the type that will wind defenders up.
Gogic is a fiery character and sometimes it doesn’t take much to rile him up, I think both strikers will do their best to get at him early doors which could impact his game.
He’s had 12 yellows and 1 red in 33 Premiership matches but I’m not sure he’ll have come up against two more aggressive, and annoying, strikers.
Tip 3: Both teams to score - Yes - Bet365 - 10/11
I think Partick will come away with the victory here, eventually, but I can’t discount St. Mirren getting a goal at some point. On his day, Mandron can be a nightmare for defenders and has scored two in his last two games.
They haven’t scored much this season but if Craig McLeish can get the players up for this one, they should at least be able to grab a goal on Monday evening.
